Got pulled by the Police last night..

The point of my story wasn't to imply that most of them have a bad attidude. I was very clear that the first few that pulled me over were fine. I fully understand being pulled over as I was a young lad in a crap car driving through Birkenhead town centre at pub chucking out time, I'd pull me over for a spot check too! It may have helped that when I got out they saw I was wearing a !!!!+shirt+tie+ID badge, perhaps if I were in a shell suit and white baseball cap they would all have treated me like scum from the outset, I dunno.
The point is, I was lucky, it was only the 4th time that I got pulled by the miserable moron, I realise that these 4 pulls are not statically significant but if we assume that they are for a moment this would mean that 25% of law abiding youngsters first experience with the police will be a negative one. the real number is almost certainly less than this but it should be zero.
Edit: For some reason I thought the OP was 20, so some of my comments about "first encounter with the police" may not be valid to the OP, but still valid to plenty of others.0

A faulty wiper isn't the end of the world, and certainly doesn't warrant grief off a copper after being polite.0

The OP said that they didn't have any spare money to fix the wiper, had they have fixed it, this thread probably would not exist.
but the car is roadworthy. you said if she cannot afford to keep it on the road. the OP cannot afford to have every slight blemish repaired by a peugeot dealer immediately (my father informs me they charge £79 an hour labour charge at his dealership). she has solved the problem this afternoon. the car the entire time remained roadworthy and on the road0

I've been pulled over by the police 3-4 times... and I'm 22. (may I just point out, never had any points, or fines or whatever else).
3 times they were polite, just asking me where I am going, check insurance, check the lights etc. and they seem alright.
1 time I was going up a hill a little speedy, not massively (~35 in a 30, which turns into 40 half way up the hill), but a police car had pulled up beside me at lights, told me to whind down my window and was EXTREMELY rude to me telling me blah blah blah speeding, so I just told him I'm in a 1.1 1991 fiesta, with 4 gears and a manual choke, and the car won't get up the hill if I don't go fast enough, and he told me to get a better car! What a tool. I just ignored him and drove off.0

I don't recall saying that the car was not " roadworthy ".0

An indicated 35 in a 91 Fiesta, I'd be surprised if you were actually doing 30 at all! Those speedos overread horribly. You were 31-32 at most which is well below the ACPO guidelines for prosecution.
Know what you mean about maintaining momentum to get up hills like that too, someone who is supposed to be policing traffic should definitely know it!
I have a theory that officers in other areas of the force who turn out to have an attitude problem end up getting moved into traffic to minimise the harm they can do. You wouldn't want one of these morons being condescending or abusive to a reluctant witness in a murder prosecution would you?0

            GeeGee8
You sound like a fun loving girl, eg motorbikes, skiing etc. If I were you, I wouldn't bother getting the rear wiper repaired, just break it off and spend your money on living life. Advice that perhaps others need to pay heed to!
PS - you don't need that wiper, just wipe it clean on occasions!0

I bet I could drive that Fiesta up a hill at less then 30 mph, it would seem to me that there was a " tool " at the scene, but it wasn't the copper.0
