    Good Morning Everyone.
Woke up at 3am this morning, came downstairs and did the online daily sudoku and read the knitters' thread - and then went back to bed! Took ages to get back to sleep, but glad I didn't just stay up.
DH working today, so he's gone off with a beef sandwich for lunch. Am hoping to stretch the remaining beef for cottage pie tonight - in the end we had beef and ham salad last night.
DW whirring away and am about to put on a load of washing. Need to be thinking about my essay which is due in on Friday week, plus typing up all the notes from last half term for assessment. Hoping to break the back of that on Thursday, when DH has a colleague spending the day here with him.
My antibiotics end this evening. Hopefully they've killed the infection - but my cough is still very chesty.
Glad the twins enjoyed their first day at pre-school, Halight.
Oh well, must crack on now. Hope everyone has a good Tuesday. Take care of yourselves.

  • Morning All,

I have caught another cold:( Hoping that lots of lemsip and hot water will flush the darned thing away though. Cold and a bit icy up here today.

I have a hospital appt at 1030, then we are off to see OH'smum for half an hour, and then I shall be taking him to pick up his van as he is off down south for a few days'work. We had kind of known it was coming, but it was talked about at the start of December, so we thought it might not pan out, so relief all round up here. Savings are safe for another wee while ;)

We went sofa shopping last night, and hubby talked me into a huge sofa three times the price of the one I had seen, so there will be no new sofa here for a while until we've saved enough for it - it is lovely though! I have bought some wallpaper for the hall, and that will go up in the Easter holidays I think :) Looking forward to seeing the house really take shape this year.

OS today, its just DS1 and I for dinner and I'll wait and see what he fancies, I need to vacuum and make space for aBB4L order which should arrive tomorrow.

Hugs for all the poorlies and worried. LameWolf, still thinking of you.

    Morning everyone :D

Dull, windy and wet here. It chucked it down last night :( Dark and cold I can cope with, dark, cold and wet I cannot. Roll on spring :j

Not much going on here today. Aiming for another NSD, got 5 so far so not doing as well as I'd like :o
Garden is a tip and needs tidying up but it's too cold and horrible out there, c'mon sunshine I NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED you.

Got about 3 loads of washing to put on. Where did it all come from?

Heading off to the library this morning to have a nose at their books. Having lunch at my mums and need to make a new reward chart for DS. We're on Operation Go To Sleep On Your Own. He's done ten nights so far and we're sitting at the top of the stairs. I shall have bloomin' party when I can put him down and make it all the way down the wooden hill ;)

Sorry not much OS to report other than the usual. Chicken curry for tea. Attempted to make some yoghurt with a glut of whole milk, didn't work, I normally use UHT fine so not sure what went wrong. Will have to have a nose at the yoghurt thread for some tips.

pixie - enjoy your time off and I hope you can get on top of your depression xx

gillian - l hope your depression eases soon too. What a shame for your team leader. Life seems very cruel sometimes x

Redruby - how do you find the time. Fancy coming to mine and whipping up a storm in my kitchen :D

Hugs, spoons and high fives all round. Have a good day OS or not.

Grey and gloomy here - I hate this weather, it makes me feel so drained.

DS has gone to school and DD is still in bed - alright for some.
Got my DLA form so I must knuckle down and get that done, but I think I will ring them first because I have 2 important hospital appointments in February and that may alter things.

Washing on and another couple of loads to do after that.

Apart from that I don't have a lot to do - so I might crack on and get some knitting done

Hope everyone has good days x

    Morning all

Feeling awful, have that cold/flu thing, hot then cold, aching everywhere, chesty cough, pounding head etc. Off work as had terrible night with it on Sun. Did intend going to work but just felt so awful that I could hardly walk to school and back with ds.
Not much OSing going on at all as just resting.
Just took DS to school and had a word with his one to one as DS told me last night he had been put out of the class for making noises:mad:. He says it is because they have no afternoon break now and he needs that time to flap and get his noises out etc:o.
His one to one said the teacher finds him frustrating because she knows he is very clever but he was "acting up" making noises:eek: erm no dear he has autism...I know he is clever but he has autism too and the noises were prob a response to being stressed or overstimulated or because he spends most of the school day trying to hold in the behaviour and then snaps.
I will be having a few words with teacher later....feel too poorly to have a big discussion but feel I need to say something...inclusion my a**e!
Bitsy and Halight glad they have settled to pre school:T
Adelight If you are still the same I think a doctors visit is in order.....you have been ill a while now and may need some meds. It sounds like you have an infection going on which is becoming more virulent. You don`t want to end up being septic which is a much more severe situation than most people think. x

    Morning all,
Another day for us at home but DD is much better so as long as her temp stays normal she'll be back at school tomorrow and I'll be back at work.

Going to pop to my Mum's later for some fresh air, wish she lived close enough to walk to as I've not had much exercise of late. It's not that far and it's certainly doable but not with a 5yr old who has tonsillitis.

No idea for dinner tonight, OH is over so will have a think.

Redruby - would love to see pics of bird table, if you're happy to add me as a friend send your name to me via PM x

ps - what are spoons?? I've seen some people sign off hugs and spoons?

I would love to join in, if I may. This is the first time I have even read this daily thread, although I love OS forum and am always telling anyone who will listen about it.
Got myself a new cylinder hoover yday for just £15 off ebay. Was so chuffed with it that I hoovered the whole house as it was mingin'. I haven't had a properly working vacuum for about 3 months, so I was a happy bunny. That is....... until I tried to empty it. There was no instruction manual, and I was able to click it off the body of the hoover no problem. Then I was standing in my newly spotless kitchen, clicked on the wee lever at the top of the canister and was trying to see how the lid came off the empty it. Realised just too late, that it opens at the bottom!!!!! All over my newly washed trousers, socks, slippers and clean floor!!!!!!:eek::eek:
Having a friend over to visit with her 2 little ones. Can't wait as I haven't seen her for ages. Going to try and make a quiche for lunch. Took cod out of the freezer and fancy trying to make 'healthy' fish and chips for dinner. Hopefully I can make wedges ( first 2 attempts have been a bit greasy) and tasty fish somehow. I'm not used to cooking fish but have decided to cook more of it now as I am no longer going to buy chicken as I can't get a free-range halal one here. Don't know why it's taken me so long to realise that chickens are kept in as bad conditions as battery hens, and I only ever buy free-range eggs.

(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...
