I'll start a specific thread on this as I think they're being crafty having been forced to back track.0 -
Just a heads up for anyone on T-Mobile.
My friend who works on the inside has told me they have released a staff Q&A which states customers who decide to stay on their current price plan at upgrade will continue to recive the 1GB/3GB allowance.
You will only recive the new allowance if you chose to move onto a new price plan. Long and short is upgrade do not change price plan continue to recive your larger Internet allowance. Its simple.
Hopes this helps.0 -
So let me get this straight: everyone who is already part of T-Mobile will have their unlimited data cut? This would mean if I were to join T-Mobile tomorrow I would not get unlimited data for the contract length, it would stop being unlimited on the 2nd Feb. Is this right?0

If you sign up with T-Mobile before the 2nd Feb your data allowance either 1GB or 3GB for Android phones will stay the same for your entire contract. Once your minimum contract period is over as long as you dont change price plans it will stay the same. If you change plans once your contract is over it will drop down to 500mb.0 -
You've never had unlimited data there has always been a fair use cap in place. Currently it's 1 or 3GB on Tmobile but it's still there.
The networks and 3rd parties need to be stopped from selling it as un limited.
On another not i ported out from T-Mobile yesterday. Waited for a call and got it yesterday from a Mgr there. He said he couldn't find any of the calls i made on Tuesday last week when i called to cancel. He as before said emails don't count but from the notes he said he can see i called in to cancel as i was like many other people told i couldn't cancel without a charge despite OFCOM and their 9.3 rule.
He has agreed to back date the termination to last tuesday and so i await their final bill and the many many calls with regards to the termination fee.
Not in the slightest worried mind as both OFCOM and Trading Standards
advised i was well within my rights to cancel without a fee.
From now on it will be a sim free phone and a sim only deal for me which ever network i use. Less hassle and no commitment.0 -

Not that I disagree with you, but the ASA does. They have ruled many times that the term UNLIMITED can be used even though there is a fixed limit as long as most people do not hit that limit.
The last one on the ASA site is here that was brought against Vodafone and NOT upheld
http://www.asa.org.uk/ASA-action/Adjudications/2009/12/Vodafone-Ltd/TF_ADJ_47835.aspx
and one key bit is
We noted previous ASA adjudications on the use of unlimited claims when a fair usage policy applied established that the use of the claim was acceptable provided that the existence of the policy was stated clearly in the ad and the the policy could be considered reasonable in that it could be shown to affect only atypical users.0 -
