Did you know 24 hours ago that those who sign up now wouldn't get the 3Gb package !

No i didnt and i still dont know that .

Information on new data policy:
http://support.t-mobile.co.uk/help-and-support/index?page=home&cat=DATA_CHANGES
From 1 February 2011 new and upgrading customers will be given a monthly 500MB data allowance. There will be no charge for those customers exceeding that limit, and those who do will still be able to access important services such as email and web browsing, however file downloading and streaming services will be restricted. Customers will then have the option to increase their monthly Fair Use Policy to 1GB a month by purchasing a Mobile Broadband Booster. This will ensure an improved quality of service for all of our mobile internet users.

I think the BBC's phrasing is ambiguous in the same way that TM's statement is: does "new" and "existing" mean new/existing as of 1 Feb, or new/existing as of now?

But given they're still listing the 1/3GB limits online for customers signing up now, I imagine they're not stupid enough for it to be the latter.
• I get around 1100kbps down and 460kbps up, haven't heard from tmobile either. Though at 10:58pm last night I got an email saying one of my emails hadn't been delivered which I found odd.

"This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification
THIS IS A WARNING MESSAGE ONLY.
YOU DO NOT NEED TO RESEND YOUR MESSAGE.
Delivery to the following recipient has been delayed:
cust.rel@tmobile.co.uk
Message will be retried for 2 more day(s)"

Also installed 3g watchdog yesterday and managed to use up more than 2GBs of bandwidth downloading/streaming anything and everything I can, just in case ;)

T-Mobile have told me that i cannot cancel as no changes have been made - no word of an apology nothing so I am disputing this as they clearly made an announcement regarding changes, the fact they have since made another announcement making more changes is irrelevant as if they hadnt backed down we would have had to have cancelled before the 1st of Feb when the changes were implemented so any cancellation/pac request between those two announcements should stand?

It is a good one to argue.

I would tend to favour your point of view.

T mobile send out message informing you of a change which would be detrimental to you.
You inform them you wish to terminate your contract.

That to me is when the termination kicks in.

But a good one for a round table discussion.

Exactly, they could have issued the 2nd statement on the 31st of January at 23:59. the fact is i told them i was cancelling and wanted my PAC and they issued the 2nd one when it to late, 5 minutes after or 5 months it doesnt matter.

I have just been told that not all calls are recorded so they may not be able to find the calls i made to cancel.

I was also told that email doesn't count as a communication tool, only calls are excepted for termination.

The guy i spoke to also said the notes that he can see say that when i did call i changed my mind about termination when i was advised about the fee to do so so i said that t-mobile are then in breach of 9.3 b, being that the CSR did not advise of my ability to cancel without charge.

Q1: Overall how satisfied were you with your call experience?
5. Extremely
4. Very
3. Fairly
2. Not very
1. Not at all

Answered 1.

Q2. Sorry you were not satisfied. Did the T-Mobile agent you spoke with resolve your query on this occasion?
a. Yes
b. No

Answered b

I then received 2 different question 3's! T-Mobile can't even organise a customer service survey!

Q3 Sorry to hear that. How satisfied were you with the friendliness of the agent - from 5 (extremely) to 1 (not at all)

Q3 Sorry to hear that. How satisfied were you with the knowledge of the agent - from 5 (extremely) to 1 (not at all)

Unfortuntely I didn't spot the difference in the two questions before I answered with 2 for friendliness (spoke to 4 separate people - first was nice, second nice too but didn't call me back as promised. 3rd was an overly agressive **** and 4th (the manager) was friendly. If I had noticed the knowledge question my answer would have been 1!

They now want me to text in my comments on how they could improve the T-Mobile experience!! Well I have unlimited texts (unless they've changed my FUP!) so I could have a field day here...

The information on WWW.littlefluffytoys.com suggests:
Remember that if you terminated your contract before this announcement at 4.23pm on 12th January 2001, you are out of contract and under no obligation to re-enter the contract.

I think T Mobile are clutching at straws if they are suggesting that you couldn't cancel by email. They deemed it acceptable to send a text to a small minority of customers as notification of a major change.
