  • God knows where they are. The people i have spoken to today are not UK based.

Call centre is Phillipines based - I had this conversation with them when they had bodged up my upgrade and tried to charge 200 in early termination fees on the 2 lines!!

I will watch this as I have had no texts to either contract and after 12 days this month have used 250gb and thats only with a couple of new apps and using fb and twitter daily.

thank you, that does clarify it for me. So it's only current/unbilled usuage you can ever have gained access to anyway. The account never stated what my allowance was anyway. I had to go through their nightmare switchboard to clarify that.

We're still left with a phone/s we have to then pay them to unlock though, if we want to switch sims... Till this, I was happy with 'em, its why I switched to them in the first place....

Its free to unlock them with software on XDADEVS

Someone on Briskoda.net raised a good point.

You cant differentiate between downloading a webpage or a small file, so in effect they are telling you what you can and cant look at on the internet!
  • Someone somewhere mentioned that the homepage for Engadget is now 1MB!!! Thats 1 PAGE!!!!!

Anyone know where the call centre staff are based?

As I have just had a supervisor blatantly lie to me about how this would also affect him....

How does it not affect them? If they have T-Mobile contracts to they have the same T&Cs.

OK, neither myself nor the wife have had any text. Whether we exceed the new limit is immaterial surely? They cant change the contract terms and not tell us?

If the 500mb limit applies and I can switch, then as they now share with tmob so I get signal at home, I'll simply move back to Orange. It'd suit me fine.

I find it shady that you could change the terms of a contract, not tell people because you don't think it will affect them. It would be incredibly simple for T-Mobile to fire out the same text to everyone so why not. This whole thing doesn't add up. Were they simply testing a few contract holders?

Switching back to Orange isn't great either as they are the same parent group in the end!

The whole reason, in my view, that they are taking this action is to align themselves with Orange. As we knew when they merged there would be benefits but things would need to change and to their benefit! No way the data would be uprated on Orange so they are downgrading and matching Orange at the lower end of the scale.

Nope not for free, that I've ever come across.
KeyGen software possibly, but you still need a link to HTC IMEA database.
I'm on XDA and know it (I'm running HDPL, a 2.08 radio, custom rom and windroid/SD).

15 quid from T-mobile, to unlock, or it's a case of discuss the merits of 3rd party unlockers

Goodness. 500mb isn't going to last you very long then is it.

    Round 1

Thought I'd test the waters with T-Mobile and cancellation without charge.

I told Dale I heard rumors about a change in internet allowance and asked if it would affect me. He said that my FUP would be reduced to 500Mb from 3Gb. He asked if I did much downloading or streaming. I told him I watched YouTube videos and streamed TV and radio.

He said T-Mobile advises customers to only use the phone for web browsing and if I used more than 500Mb, streaming would be prevented. I replied I wanted to continue streaming within the 3GB limit as before and asked what he could do. He said I could pay £15 extra a month to retain the 3Gb.

I told him that was an increase in price for the same data allowance and this was to my material detriment. I asked to cancel without penalty and he said I would be liable for the termination charge. I quoted Ofcom 9.3 to him and he typed furiously. He then said he needed to speak to his supervisor and I was cut off after 2 minutes.

I know Orange will be the same company, but O2 are expensive and Vodafone are rubbish. As 3 dont have 2g rollback anymore, and I'm often in the sticks, rules them out.

Doesnt leave us with many choices and they know it.

As they've all dropped to 500mb, and charge the same rates, doesnt this smack of a cartel rigging prices? The mobile network isnt as competitive anymore.
