I've not heard anything from T-mobile about a capped data rate. Perhaps better check my account.0

I've just registered on this forum because of this thread.
I phoned up t-mobile on 150, pressed 2 to go through to cancellations, and said:
1. "I've heard the news about the 500Mb change" - he confirmed it was changing in February.
2. "I've checked my contract terms and the 'what it costs' booklet - it mentions the 1GB and 3GB limits." The booklet is described in the terms as describing your 'price plan'. Not exactly watertight but thought it wouldn't hurt.
3. Because my contract was changing and this would be a problem for me I wanted to cancel without a fee unless I could be put up to 3GB limit permanently.
With very little resistance he said looking at my account I was on the 1GB limit at the moment (which I didn't know, I thought I was on 3GB) and he can put me up to 3GB. He confirmed that this would still apply after February.
Result!
"@tmobileukhelp just spoke to cancellations. He put me up to a 3GB limit for free & said this would still apply after Feb. Is that right?"
They messaged me back saying:
"Hi Luke, they have added WnW+, from my understanding this will have a 1GB FUP come February. We're are awaiting confirmation."0 -
Check out the poll in my signature. Even people on 3GB are getting the notice of a change to FUP.0

I just tweeted @tmobileukhelp and sent them my account details.

i have 2 lines with them, both with the web and walk plus and i havnt recieved any txts?
have they even given any of their customers notice? they are informing 1 in a million customers and will only tell the rest when they notice they cant download next month and then will say 'our t&c's have changed!
it is outrageous that tmobile are saying we cant get out of our contracts because of a change of the fair usage policy, where do we stand?
also lets get some more clarification, please write on your post if you have the 1gb or 3gb,
regards
They havent given me any notice, i explained that to them in the original email, so its clear they didnt even bother to read it.
As for the suggestion of using wifi at home if i want to use video, why the hell do i need a mobile, if i want to make a phone call i should do that from home via my landline i guess?
It really doesnt matter if its 1gb or 3gb, ones a 50% reduction and ones a 83% either way it leaves the contract holder at a massive disadvantage.TESCO EVERY LITTLE change to the t&cs HELPS0 -
So far...

Simply dont know whether to believe him or not. I mentioned the text on the T-Mobile website. He suggested in future I ring CS with any issues like this. Sounded a bit like a fob off.
I get on well with one of the staff in my local store (the guy is a student and also works in another shop I use, so I see him about quite a lot).
He said that they have received no information on the matter, and that at present he is avoiding selling people these contracts, as he feels he would be breaking the law by advertising per the "corporate line" which is that it's reduced to 500 MB.
He said there is confusion and nobody really seems to know what is going on, but that the store manager genuinely hasn't been told about this. The stores are not related to the call centres, and communication is usually pretty poor between them.
This guy is trustworthy (he told me about 6monthweb at least 4 weeks before it was announced, as long as I didn't mention it to anyone), and sure enough, on the day he said, 6monthweb was announced...
And no, I'm not giving any details on the store or person, as he's staying out of this... Sounds like there's internal corporate mayhem, with nobody in charge of decisions making.0
