Has anybody noticed that the contact us tab has gone from the Redten/NJP Services account page. Now we cannot even raise a ticket to report problems. This facility was just about the only improvement I had noticed after the change-over but I guess they realised they would loose all the income from their premium phone lines. Yet another nail in the coffin as far as I am concerned. I am absolutely determined to take this to the wire but I cannot find my original copy of the terms and conditions of the contract. Please can somebody post them on this site as I will need to chack them before I call my home insurance legal helpline.

Safetyguy - what terms and conditions are you actually after? I signed up in September 2007, and have copies of my credit agreement with Clode, and the Warranty info/terms and conditions from Redten. I also went back on the Redten website a couple of days ago - www.redteninternet.com - and took various screenshots of their answers to FAQs - including explanations of their Fair Use policy etc. I also downloaded their 8-page Terms and Conditions. Is it any of these you're after? If so, they're still available on their website - I've just checked

    Hi

Re ofcom - 1) I just copied what safetguy wrote on the previous page

re MAC - 2) I generated my mac when the BT page first came up but i didnt give it to bethere until tuesday 18th March (even though BT said it expires 17th MArch) and now my line will swap over on 28th March.

If you want your MAC then BT are a nightmare, they will say call your ISP - can you be bothered with that?. Try calling BT wholesale not BT broadband for the MAC if you cant be arsed with redten

I thought NJP had a section where you can request mac on the members portal (dont know as havent looked at it myself)

Just doing some p2p and its crap speed, less than 40kbps!!!!!

It seems on the surface as though Redten are in breach of the law. They are required by law to be a member of an ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution) service. This is going to be either Otelo or CISAS. Looking on the pages of both these ADRs, they are not listed on either. This is grounds in itself for OFCOM to get involved and remove their licence to operate! I would recommend that on Tuesday, somebody calls OFCOM and makes a complaint about this and asks OFCOM to jump in as there is not an ADR available.

    I hope this helps

    Hi Andy_man99
I signed up in Dec 2006.
I have already downloaded the contract t&c's currently published on Redten website but apparently they are different to the one that early subscribers signed up to.
An earlier posting on this site stated that the early contract showed the PC as being free with the charges for broadband, whereas on the current contract it is the other way around.
If anybody who signed up within the first 3 months kept a copy, perhaps they could compare them to the current contract and let us know if it is actually different.
  • Hi everyone,
I have also logged a complaint with ofcom
failure to notify;barring internet access via BTtherefore failing to supply service;failure to communicate;failure to respond to complaints.
I shall log another one if I receive no communication from them by Wednesday of next week.
By Wednesday of next week I shall also have recorded sufficent speed test analysis--have used 4 separate testers which support each other in results. Host is shown as murphx innovative solutions--no mention of redten or NJP in the tracking system. Also fixed IP address is being given out by the system rather than being hidden by router generic address.
    Some early results of speed:

  • I also have copy of the original web site advert of free PC, took a copy when I decided to join.
The terms and conditions were on the web site on a link which did not work and you had to send away for them to redten. I dont think I ever did though have copy of the web site where link did not work.
Have copy of the Q and As which state you cancel anytime within the three years, giving six weeks notice and the only cancellation fee consists of the remaining value of the PC originally worth 500 and you kept the PC.
