I too have had my service resumed. While it does appear faster at times, there are other problems. At random times, I am unable to connect to certain web pages. I am getting a lot of 'Server not found' messages. Even viewing sites such as eBay or MySpace sometimes results in this error.

Frustratingly, I can usually view other pages on the same sites - just not the one I actually want to!

This was never a problem before.

Though I'm not a Redten user, I've been reading this thread as it paints a possibly grim picture for some of the so called unlimited services.

I don't know if this will help, but a large number of home contents insurance policies have a legal protection cover option. This situation might be covered, and it will give you a chance if you can use this service to get some legal advice and perhaps have a lawyer available if you choose to sue them. I hope this gives you a chance to nail them to the floor.

That's a very good point that I, for one havn't considered yet.

Bobby Fudge, Professa & McMikes, have you been derestricted yet?

We owe you a debt of gratitude for discovering this before it was too late for everyone else.

It's still claiming that they offer an unlimited** service on their website. Don't know what the ** means. I've saved the page where it says that for future prosterity!

the ** means their fair usage policy which was unlimited after 11pm

I have flagged this apparent restriction with Ofcom. If enough of us do it, they will investigate and take action. I suggest everyone else does the same.

Hi guys... still on-line but the restriction is still in place. I tried up until midnight last night and the restriction wasn't lifted, so it looks like i may be stuck with this until the end of the month.

Still looking for ways out of the contract though.. what really frustrates me is when you contact customer services and they say the problem is "blah blah", and they are not willing to deviate from that, no trouble shooting at all, just an assumption that they won't investigate.

    grrrrrrrrrr

For some reason i cant post from work (says my message is too short no matter how many characters i type!) - anyone help with that?

so couldnt paste in the word document that Nicola Dobson at Clode sent me yesterday after a few emails to her the week before - basically it says that NJP have taken over broadband from redten so you cant cancel unless redten authorise it!!!

Also, how does the contract breach now stand based on the following two invitations to treat that no longer exist?

    1) No 3 year hardware warranty anymore?
    2) No new pc at the end of the term if you stay with them?

I am up for any class action law thing (wanted to say "group action" but that sounds horny!)

    thanks
