    Just got through to RedTen, 30 mins waiting time, it does seem to be an ip addressing issue at the moment, the guy seemed quite nice to speak to tbh, and although he said he thought it would be resolved shortly, he would check my line anyway and call me back (I dont expect either to happen to be honest!! after this weeks debarkle) however I am more confident I'll get a connection in the next day or 2.

    Also my connection log is showing no entries, can anyone confirm if its a pretty instantaeneous thing for it to show in the control panel, I'd like to get someone at home to periodically reset the router just in case.

  • Just spoke to Paul at NJP who regretably informed me that my details have not been passed on. He was very apologetic and mentioned that he had heard that Redten's own customer service had been "difficult to get hold of" at the moment. He also said that Redten had been given access to a portal(?) where they could transfer customer details over:confused:


    Unfortunately you're in the same position as me. Redten (assuming they have your mac, which they said that BT wouldn't give them, even though I managed to get it from BT) can fill out your details on a form that NJP have sent them but don't rely on them having done it even when they say they have. I phone NJP every time just to confirm that Redten have done what they've said they've done only to be told that they haven't!!!

    Basically you've got to get Redten to fill that form out, my way of doing it is putting pressure on them and speaking to the manager and following every little thing up with a check to see that they've done what they've said. Some bits like the MAC I'm doing myself to prove that they're just being lazy and it is possible to do it quickly if they wanted to pull their finger out.

    Luckily I have a fair bit of spare time to keep calling!

    Does not seem to be a service available from NJP.
    Can I access my emails through the web?

    At this moment in time we only have the POP3 facility available, however in future we are looking to introduce Web-mail so please keep an eye on your members area for future announcements.

    So Thats number 1 in the list for Clode to prove the new service is not a similar or greater specification as per the contract.

    mail.redten.net has been redirected to NJP but webmail.redten.net still goes through the BT Wholesale network (somehow:confused: ) to the logon page, then you cannot get access.

    Just got in from work and it's working. I'm getting 1.4mb download speed, previously was getting 1 or lower.
    I'm using a BT Voyager 2100 wireless modem router. the only setting I had to change was my username to the new surfmax one.
    Those of you still at work, there is hope. Those of you that can't get connected keep persevering with NJP i wouldnt bother ringing REDTEN as it's a waste of time. Good Luck.
    I will keep checking back and posting re the service and limits etc. Thanks to everyone for all the useful info and updates over the last 9 days.
