Well I'm back online as of yesterday - but with plus.net! I got a MAC and used it on Tuesday after we all lost connection on Monday. This was just around the same time I found out that RedTen were carrying out their 'smooth' migration from the 'terrible' BT pipe (which I see no complaints about here) onto the 24mb (yeah, right) NJP job. Not having broadband for 8 days just isn't worth paying for, so I'm half glad that I left, except that now I have to chase the credit card company to see about getting money back....
Hope the rest of you get reconnected soon, and that RedTen scrape through long enough for you to have a decent service for the rest of your contracts!
Oh, and I forgot to mention that I had a letter from RedTen yesterday (2nd class as someone else mentioned!) with all my details about my move to NJP! Muppets!

Back at last!
Just tryed and I am back on line with these muppets. My plan of going over to Orange did not work as I found out at the weekend because the MAC has been used here. Good to be back on line. Never recieved a letter with log on details just changed the dsl.com in my router settings to surfmax. I will be doing the same as bobby though and carry out a test to see if the service will be charged for over use. I do like my gaming and shall be catching up for missed time. As long as I am connected I will keep in touch with you all through this forum.
Best of luck to all out there.Ron.

No longer waiting REDTEN:D0 -
I've had nothing. No letters, no response to emails (emails to NJP were bounced back yesterday), can't get through on the phone. I tried resetting my router using the instructions user.name.redten@surfmax but it keeps giving me an "authentication failed" message. the adsl light is on though. Can't log into njp page as they haven't sent me the letter with my new user details (I need a number now apparently not my adsl name). I'm a teacher and I can't tell 25 stroppy attention seeking teenagers to hang on for 30 minutes while I listen to Redten's awful queue muzak:mad:
The words "brewery""Organise a", "couldn't" and "p*ss up" all spring to mind for some reason.
I want my internet back!0 -
Guys... I back online this morning about 10am ...
Rigth some info for the ones that can not connect it...
1.Unplug the router from your computer , unplug all the cables, shut down the computer and unplug the router from the mains on the wall ...
Give about 2 minutes
2.Connect all the cables (2) on the router and on the computer , power ON on the router, and then power ON in the computer.
3 Open up the mozila or explorer and do the wizzard all over again on the router (dont forget to change the end of your user name to "surfax" so will be like this : name.surname.redten@surfmax )
Your password is the same as before.
4. GOOD LUCK!0 -
:rotfl: BTW - anyone notice that they still have "Broadband services provided by Redten Internet via BT WHOLESALE NETWORK" on their useless web page?0
