I dispute these figures:Finally I can assure you that 0845 and 0870 numbers add up to large sums when things go belly up, most of us I think on this forum spent upwards of £50 on phone calls trying to sort the mess, mine was closer to £70.
It only cost up to 5p a minute for an 0844 no not 50-60 per minute like Redten!0 -
barry you are missing the point.
Noone is arguing that the cost is 5p a minute. They are saying that when you are on hold/ making dozens of calls a day it adds up. When nothing gets done you have to call again etc. etc.
And in any case, correct me if im wrong, fatcat arent taking new customers yet?
It boggles my mind to think people would sign up to an unknown ISP after these problems but go for it mate, just dont come moaning here when you have been shafted.0 -
I'm not trying to deny you venting of your frustration towards Redten. I can understand your frustrations although I haven't dealt with them at all. I imagine it similar to that which I had with Virgin except eventually you do get hold of someone, although they may not help you. The only thing I don't get, is why you guys think there is conspiracy going on? Fatcat told me they are nothing to do with Redten and they just had their customers transferred over to them, Clode are just a finance company? Njp as far as I can see from research I have done are a broadband supplier. Where is the conspiracy? Why would any company, want to lose customers? Surely they'd want to retain them otherwise they don't have a business! Unless it's Redten of course!
I'm just thinking outside the box a bit.0 -

Dispute away BarryB, as Gnipper says, it is not the headline cost per minute, it is the number of minutes you end up listening to cheesy music or being shunted from pillar to post, or worse still being cut off, all trying to get what you paid for in the first place, and 087 numbers are normally 10p upwards, from which the company you are calling gets a cut from BT.
If fatcat are taking on then go for it, you have been warned.
If as I suspect you are affiliated to redten/clode/njp then be upfront about it and stop trying to gain credibility through this forum, at least fatcatinternetmaster had the b**ls to declare him/herself, and lets face it, no one in their right minds, having read this thread, would ever dream of signing up to a company which had anything at all to do with the companies it pertains to.

barry, fatcat are registered at clodes address, fatcat only came into existance because redten went bust.
Fatcat is basically a company controlled by clode so that clode dont lose any more money out of the redten fiasco. I and many others have taken clode to court and settled. This is costing clode lots of money so they attempt to provide a service. Out of the hundreds who now are free, there are several hundred that arent and want a service, maybe they dont even know about this forum. Its sad really. NJP are the same as fast 4 - read that other forum posted earlier - that should say a lot to you about their reliableness.

Hi FC
Lucky you with 7mb/s I am still only on 2.5 as our exchange hasn't been upgraded yet, so 2mb/s is supposedly the maximum, that is the gospel according to BT anyway.
Please don't scare the Troll off, it is not very often you come across one so tame, and they do liven the place up a bit.:cheesy:
Is everyone on the forum sorted now or are there cases still pending.
I lost touch a little while in the States and Canada, as I only had limited internet access, still better than Redten/NJP I might add.

Hi all, nice to see some familiar names still about. after a couple of weeks of no broadband when my contract was terminated i am now connected via aol and my speeds are double the best that ten fat redcats could provide and comes with a decent modem too. my sanity is slowly returning and i can sleep well knowing i never have to deal with them again.0

Hi J.
Nice to see you back. Been busy myself; have a house full at the moment though they're all going off down south tomorrow.
Did you enjoy the big country and the wild north or did you just hit the high spots?
7.1 is something eh? Superspeed for me....must not be too many on my 50 circle or something. BT probably too expensive. Thinking abiout getting BT vision but we'll see.
Now having a nice quiet cup of coffee before bed--need to be up at 5 tomorrow to see them off.
I think there are still some people who have yet to be sorted out by Clode and no doubt they will let us know how they get on. I think everyone knows now how to proceed and some I think are waiting on court results.
Still have to check on our friends " the reds " but will do this over the week end.

Welcome back rebel, nice to hear from you again and good to hear that you are now connected and online. The sense of relief and nil isp stress is wonderful.
