Agree with jaypee, nedmundo et al.

Wouldnt touch anything connected that lot ever again, wouldnt touch Watford Electronics again (despite being a previous customer) and certainly would never consider switching to an ISP who I had never heard of before. Just not worth the hassle.

But like was said here, shouldnt feed the trolls really

The person you know is probably the only person using the service, maybe the same one that sent them an email saying what a good service. If you only have 1 customer I'm sure you can look after them pretty well. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Just found all these 308 pages of comments on redten and there's so much to take in. I am another disgruntled subscriber and I am wondering what my options are. Heres my story, if theres any one that can suggest a way forward that would be exceellent and appreciated.

I subscribed 18m ago (as most others did) to get the free computer with broadband for £20pm.
The computer crashes regularly and I have an alternative broadband so want to cancel. I wrote to redten 2 months ago and also the company Fat cats that took over them 3 weeks ago and have had no reply. The finance company for the 3 year deal is the same clode retail finance.
In the paperwork it says I cancel and return the computer (paying a restocking charge) or keep the computer paying what they value it at. The computer crashes so they can have it back as far as I'm concerned. The telephone helpline is not helpful and premium rate and its a return to base warranty at £15 a go. (It cost me £35 in call charges last time I had to get it fixed)
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should do? Polite suggestions preferred!:rotfl:

In the first place you need to put a complaint in writing to Clode Finance, telling them they are in breach of contract, they will probably stall or reject the complaint, next step which is the only one that has an effect to date is to issue a court claim for the cost of the outstanding value of the finance deal.

Hi, I am new to forums but have been watching this one for some time. When Fatcat took over my speed dropped to around 90 kbps. After wasting some time complaining and communicating with Fatcat and Clode I was able to reach a settlement with Clode. I owed £340. I offered £65 and settled for their counter-offer of £80. You can say I should have had to pay nothing but it is good to be free. I did not fancy the court hassle, so I am relatively happy. Should be connected with PlusNet in 2 days. Good luck guys.

I rang Fatcat, they answered the phone answered my questions and said they would try and help me wherever possible. They were polite and helpful. So despite the comments made about my sanity, I think people should not judge them until they have put them to the test!
I'm am now even more determined than before to sign when I can.

Fatcat is pure and simply a finance company namely Clode run by finance savvy staff, they know zip all all about running a successful Internet Service Providing business as they are NOT an ISP, they have zero connections to the internet FACT!

Fatcat is a virtual ISP running on the back of the NJP/Breathe network which itself then sits on the Murphx backbone provided by BT Wholesale. FACT!

Fatcat's own use broadband lines aren't provided by Fatcat or NJP/Breathe as they know all to well they are provided by Virgin FACT!

I could go on & on about what they can NEVER provide you with, so by all means sign up matey!


Hiya to everyone else, sorry for not contributing recently but Fat-Idiots haven't got a pheking clue (No breaking news there then!) as Breathe severed my ADSL line early last week, so I'm back on dialup :eek: but at least I'm away from these bumbling muppets.:j

Just signed up with Aquiss, 330GB p/m for £24, get this only a 1 month contract which you only pay for after been supplied it and if you do get a crap service they don't charge you at all..sweet! Well worth checking out.
