And I feel for those who paid to get out! I ended up costing clode money!!!0
-
Just thought I would let you all know that after coming back from 10 days holiday, I opened my door to find a cheque for nearly £100 off Clode for the premiums I paid after I had been cut off and also my court fees - I couldn't believe my eyes!
So, persistance does pay off. I didn't think they'd reply, let alone pay up the money they stole off me!
Thanks to everyone on this forum for all your help, I'm completely home free of the whole mess now, only taken 4 months!
Glad you got out. well done!0 -
Bargainsucker wrote: »Congratulations Dannii B, does this mean that Clode actually went to court to defend your claim?
No, I just wrote to them following their defence against my original claim, saying that the claim had been settled and my account closed. I thought I'd try anyway to discuss it out of court and sent them a letter (whilst my court papers were still in force awaiting a court date) asking them to pay up or I'd see them in court.
And guess what...they paid up! LOL. So, court papers cancelled, I got my money back, released from contract and now enjoying Orange for a fraction of the price and with a free computer to surf it on
Good luck to those still battling, I'll pop in from time to time to see how it's goingDannii_B

Just heard from the Advertising Standards who have upheld the complaints re unlimited and free 24 M and after failing to get any response from Redten they have ASKED Redten not to repeat the ads in there current form
What a total waste of time and public money but well up to the usual standard of consumer protection we have come to expectWho cares ??0 -
Guess what - another toothless quango!Beware the character seeking personal gain masquerading as a moral crusader.

The sorry saga continues for me.
When fatcat wrote to me last month telling me I had contravened their fair use policy and that they were restricting my speed, I responded with a request for a MAC, informing them that I had been transferred to their service against my wishes and while in dispute with my former ISP.
They responded with an email informing me that my connection would be terminated on 12 July.
I asked why my account was being closed before I had set up an alternative account, I received a reply from Louise Hingley telling me the MAC was valid until the end of July and that I would remain liable for my redten contract payments.
Well guess what...last Saturday night fatcat disconnected me.
I am now using my backup BT dial-up account and have signed up with UKonline.
Just waiting for the court case to proceed now, armed with yet more evidence that Clode are just not capable of delivering anything like the terms of my original contract.
Hope to be back on broadband within 10 days so will look in later on next week.
Keep on posting progress with successful court actions, it will inspire others to act and demonstrate that contracts protect consumers just as much as they protect vendors.

Sorry to hear you are still suffering, but at least you are out of their clutches and in a few days time will be up and running again, with hopefully a reliable supplier, and you have not had to breach your line, which would have entailed a new 12 month contract with BT. It has been wonderful since I escaped and could relax again, like you say the courts should sort out the contractual side of things. Good Luck and see you in a week or so.
