I would advise stop your card and get replacement its the only safe thing to do

Like you I left but my card details (which were only given for deposit and used fraudulently during the March debacle) still appear but it is as much use as Redten because the bank stopped it
    Who cares ??
  • Having religiously followed this thread since March (but never had the time to contribute) I am surprised that nobody else seems to have received the letter I got from Clode the day after the latest walled garden message from NJP appeared:

  • Can anyone confirm that the £50 initial fee (connection fee) is repayable by Redten only before I write off asking Clode?

This is on the status page of the "new" login page. You can only see it if you can log in!!!!

Update to members area login for ADSL customers

**Please note this update relates to ADSL customers only: dialup users are unaffected**

ADSL customers who connect with the ADSL domain '@surfmax' have previously logged into their secure members page by entering the variable part of their username only; please note however that in order to login to your secure members page correctly now you must enter your full ADSL username to do so - including all that follows the '@'.

If you experience any problems with your ability to login to your secure members area please contact customer support for further assistance.

It is also available through the Fast4 members lounge, but how are Redten customers supposed to know that?

THIS IS A FRAUDULENT ACCOUNT--CLOSE YOUR BANK ACCOUNT THAT IT MAY HAVE ACCESS TO --CANCEL YOUR CARD THAT WAS USED WITH REDTEN--NOTIFY YOUR BANK TO PUT A STOP ON ANY CLAIM FOR PAYMENT FROM THEIR ACCOUNT. --SEND A COPY TO YOUR BANK--AND TO CARDIFF TRADING STANDARDS OFFICE FOR FRAUDULENT COMPANIES AND SCAMS.

Do it before they can access and clear your account.

This will depend on the claim you bring to court.

If you claim the whole of the payments made to Clode since the beginning of the contract because of their breach of contract and will return any hardware ie PC that you got----this is your full legal entitlement and Clode are jointly liable for the £50 connection charge.

If you claim for the remainder of the payments due to Clode from March 2008 when they breached your contract and are keeping the PC etc cause it was free as part of the deal then you are not due for the connection charge back as it supplied the service up to March 2008.

to check your email still operating --to verify your identity--to use your information whatever way. ....... not necessarily or perhaps not even redten original behind this.

redten do not exist as isp any more ( needed to do that to try to avoid OFCOM fines etc ) and thats why fatcat doing the business.

now we all know that the same people involved in fat cat are the original people but they do not exist as redten

therefore redten is highjacked info and almost certainly fraud / scam

so avoid measures need to be taken forthwith---do not reply to email or click any links in it from your PC or receipient email address.

Because murphx used static IP addresses which ran concurrently in batches --if one or two IP can be identified along with bank details which were in the same database passed around all these companies then when two are identified it is relatively easy for fraudsters and scammers to trawl for the rest. The info was not encrypted on the database so was there and still is for anyone to read. I cancelled mine as soon as I complained about the info and received no response back in march 2008.

I still think the slam to NJP back in march and transfer of bank details which Redten should not have kept had something to do with the fraudulent use of my account by persons in CARDIF on march 13th and 14th
Incidently I have email from Redten saying they have removed those details as rquested by me , strange that they still show in the user panel
