  • For those who are stil capped or fearful of being capped,

    If you register at the broadbandchoices web site then you can download their free download monitor and also speed checker.

    Their speed checker was the one used for the OFCOM report.

    regards to all ; still in there with you

    FC ( no longer an idiot!!!)

    Just a hint of hope for those still getting a reasonable enough service to run up enough bandwidth use to go over any so called cap.

    Personally I think the bandwidth usage shown on the NJP accounts is just typical of the bodge job of what was plainly a last minute transfer to NJP, so they are continuing to cobble together a way of dealing with Red10 T&Cs for us, but still using the same basic services they give as fast4, so the info is interesting, but probably irrelevant.

    After they promised a return to uncapped last month, I did indeed go past the 15g cap without any throttling and at the end of the month the usage table showed the extra amount that would be due for a fast4 account - its just irrelevant on ours.

    If I'm right I'll know in the next 2 days as I'm sure to go through the new so-called cap of 5g and we'll see if I get throttled. I expect (and hope!) I won't and things will continue in the same shambolic inconsistent way for some time yet. At least if that happens I'm getting a passable service until I can get out.

    I'll post an update when I've gone past 5gb.

    P.S. Dont get me wrong - I'm not defending any of the diabolical menage a trois we are fighting, just giving my reading of the current situation. I'm still off as soon as I can get a MAC or get disconnected!

    Hi

    I sent Clode the details below.

    Hi

    It says below

    "We remain confident that Redten are capable of providing your broadband connection as per your contractual arrangements" The reason I want the buy out option is because I am not getting what I signed up for. I joined Redten Internet because of the unlimited bandwidth. At the moment I am getting capped at 5 Gig a month by NJP services. If I want more bandwidth I have to purchase more. I have spent £64 on bolt ons the last one didn't work. The only number that works to speak to Redten is the 5p a minute number. I have been paying £1 a month for "Home Installation Service" I installed the computer. Can you please look at reducing the payment.

    David

    They replied:

    Unfortunately the offer amount is non-negotiable.

    However, we are working closely with redten to restore the ‘unlimited’ broadband. I can confirm that you will shortly receive correspondence with further information about an improved service.

    Yesterday I was called by someone working on behalf of Clode trying to resolve my total lack of connection.
    He promised to call me back after checking out my details.
    He did and has got NJP to recognise me and I am assured that my connection will recommence in 5 to 7 days.
    Yesterday I could no longer log on to NJP as I was "invalid". Now I am back on and my order is "in progress".
    Fingers crossed for 5-7 days.
    Also he told me that there would be good news coming soon!!! :j

    Has anyone considered transfering to fast4. Just had an email response stating that they can transfer the account without the need of a MAC. Their website states that you can end the contract at any time and they supply the MAC within 24 hours.

    May be worth transferring for a few days then requesting the MAC and moving to a decent company.

    Just got a copy of Clode's defense in my court case against them, as predicted they are saying it is not a Clode Retail Finance Limited issue.
    ====================
    The defendant is not party to the loan agreement (contract) to which the claimant refers. The loan agreement is between the claimant and Clode Funding Ltd which is a seperate legal entity. The defendant named in this action is contracted to provide customer service support to Clode Funding Limited however is in no way party to the contractual arrangements of the loan agreement in question. The defendant has previously written directly to the claimant to explain this point.
    =========================

    Just considering what my options are at the moment.
    Think they are either
    1. Continue with the current action and ask the court to make the decision if CRFL or CFL are responsible.
    2. Start a new action against CFL

    Not sure what the impact is if I take option 1. and court decides CRFL are not liable, will I get hit by costs etc.
    Any legal eagles out there that can help.

    The good news to me would have been the fact the tag was removed so you could migrate, sounds like now you have asked to be reconnected:eek:
