Change to Tiscali! (Used to be my ISP at work)
Any of you in a position to change ISP then I can recommend Tiscali - you will hardly notice the difference. Wasted 1½ hours today. Over ½ hour into one call, lots of 5min breaks where "consulting supervisor etc" then transferring you yet again - another 10min ringing then new "option message" none really apply so press "one" told to phone another number and it hangs up. Just like Deadten but more automated.
I'm sure most of us will be quite at home with their rubish service. Been overcharged since Nov 07 - thought getting a Mac (which did come pretty quick in March) would end it - still being charged (overcharged) 2 months after connecting with new ISP. Been "escalated" (4 times in last week) so many times I feel I'm in a bottomless pit.
Recent phone call - listen to standard messages and adverts - which I'm paying a premium rate for - girl answers, can't help you as half of the computers are down - try phoning back and you may be lucky and your call answered by someone who has a working computer.
Sounds familiar, but more sophisticated! and you still don't get anywhere.

My O2 service is due to go live sometime today:j , I rang them yesterday to confirm this and was told everything is on scedule. Will soon know as this redtoss connection is due to end today, Im suprized they didnt pull the plug at midnight the amount of bandwidth I have been using the last week;) legit of course, iplayer downloads I have just about downloaded the whole of the BBC listings.
So I gather that as there has been no posts of any changes to the service the fattw*t rumour was a red herring. . . .errrr theres that word again sorry!0 -
I just had a thought, Has anyone else veiwed their order from redten site. I viewed my order online with redten via the redteninternet site. Along with telling me the pc was free it also had my Full MAC code, the one BT wholesale gave me when the walled garden popped up. Don't know if this is will help anyone.
MAC,s only last 30 days from reputable companies the emergency one from BT just 7 days so those old ones are n goodWho cares ??0 -

just tried using my old MAC to migrate to BT. Interestingly they have said that they will still put my order through and "help" me get a MAC code. Have explained the situation to them in the comments box so im going to see if it will all go through with them.

I have the cd which the router came with which states you must install on pc prior to connecting your router, I presume it will then use the assistant to connect you. If not I am pretty sure O2 will text and email me the correct settings as they have been brill so far0 -

When I contacted BT tagging dept. in the beggining for a mac they told me there was nothing they could do. I was then asked who I was switching to I replied not sure yet to be told If I was switching to BT they were sure they could sort me out, so I am sure they can help you. . . heres hoping;)0 -

Yeah, thats my theory really. If I am promising them an order I think they will go all out to try and help me out.

Its like waiting for xmas sitting here waiting for my line to go down and hopefully reconnect with a service I can live with. Friends cant understand why I am so excited, but they have never experienced the agony we have all had to endure and some still are. If all goes according to plan there will be a few beers necked tonight_party_0
