Strange my copy came Saturday and it said they had been also sent to Cardiff at the same time,
Oh yes I forgot they only have one part time person opening the post and they have all the complaint letters from the last two months still to open...0 -
Same old same old essex. Bored of their laclustre approach to this whole situation0

We are paying for upto 8mb but often peak at 12 on downloads!
Just one note the black wireless box often drops the connection i think it was 92 times in one day (they told us this number themselves when we rang about it) so as soon as you can call them up and ask for them to send you the firmware upgrade file once this was installed the connection has only dropped once in over a week and it is left on 24/7!:mad: Deadten Victim - Seeking Justice at Any Price :mad:0 -
I have finally managed to have my finance agreement cancelled by Clode. I was one of the 'lucky ones' (in hindsight) who signed up in January 2008 but never received any equipment (therefore, no payments have been taken during the past 3 or 4 months of interrupted internet access).
Clode are advising that I contact Redten or NJP to obtain my MAC code. Still unable to get through to Redten. Any advice as to the best route to get my code would be much appreciated. Cheers!0 -
Hi all,
I'm a 'newbie' to this 'forum' thingy, so please ignore any errors or bad protocol!
Like the rest of you I have a supposedly 'FREE' Redten computer but it has been faulty for about 2 months and is unusable (this after only 6 months use!).
Can anyone advise me as to how I can have it repaired 'free' as per terms of contract now that it seems RedTen have 'done a bunk', so to speak?
Thanks (and stay cool!).0 -
Spineless reply - What power do the Jessaz's have over the authorities??
Par for the course with Ofcom I'm afraid, did you realy think they were there to help ??
and Tex Murphy take a leaf out of Redtens book just get it repaired then do a runner there is no other way to get it done for freeWho cares ??0 -

Shender, I was in a very similar situation to you - signed up late Dec '07, but never received any equipment BUT got migrated to NJP without my knowledge or consent, even though I'd been told 3 weeks earlier by those Redten fools that my contract was cancelled.
Luckily Clode were pretty helpful - I emailed them immediately Redten told me they couldn't keep their part of the contract, and they put the account on hold, then must have got some confirmation from Deadten, and they emailed me about a week later to say it was cancelled.
Then the fun started!! Trying to get my MAC code was like pulling teeth. I eventually got it by ringing Murphx, who called NJP, who rang me back with a code, although I know other poor victims on this forum have tried the same route without success. Try making the point to NJP and Murphx that they're providing you with free broadband, and they might see that it makes no business sense to carry on. But I wouldn't guarantee anything!
As for my £49.99 deposit... well, what do you think??? I have risked another £25 by making a small claim against Redten using the online claim service, but I don't hold out much hope. They have until May 14th to respond. When I last spoke to them in February, it sounded like a very big empty room with perhaps one desk and a phone. Now I think even the phone and desk have gone! Good luck!0 -
Thanks Mum-Ra, I have sent a further e-mail to Clode requesting that they send confirmation to Redten that my finance agreement has indeed been cancelled. Not holding out much hope, but you never know.
It is quite tempting to just sit tight and 'enjoy' (albeit a greatly reduced service) the NJP broadband for free... However, I would prefer to be away from the bunch of muppets that are Redten once and for all. I will try contacting Murphx and see where that leads.
Cheers0
