Not sure if this adds to the picture but I just got this from my local trading standards:
Dear
No further news of any value regarding Redten. However, I have carried out the Companies House search for the company appointments.
It shows that Baber Gulzar, holds appointments as company director and secretary, since 2007. It does not have any record of him resigning this position.
As I have not had any response to my letters to the Docklands and Luton addresses I shall try writing to Mr Gulzar's home address, as listed by Companies House, (38 Franklin Street, Reading, Berkshire, RG1 7YA)

Now why does that not surprise me, thanks for thar that cageyr :T

Spineless reply - What power do the Jessaz's have over the authorities??

Freedom of Information: Right to know request

Thank you for your email dated 17 April 2008 in which you have requested details of complaints against Redten Communication Limited plus any correspondence Ofcom has raised with them over the last year. This request for information has been considered under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (‘the Act’).

I can confirm that Ofcom does log all complaints that we receive from consumers. These are logged under the relevant categories on our case tracking system (e.g. delayed repair, mis-selling, etc) and against the relevant provider.

However we are unable to disclose this information and it is being withheld under the exemption in section 44 of the Act. Under this section information which we hold on this subject is exempt from disclosure since it was obtained in exercise of a statutory power and disclosure is prohibited under section 393 of the Communications Act 2003. It is likely that other exemptions will also apply.

It might be helpful to explain that Ofcom does not investigate individual consumer complaints in telecoms; this is the role of the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) schemes, Otelo (www.otelo.org.uk) and CISAS (www.arbitrators.org/cisas). While we log all reports and enquiries about each provider, this data is unaudited and unverified and is used on an aggregate basis to decide whether there are potential areas of concern within a company or group of companies which warrants specific investigation.

You should ensure that when using the provided information in any way, including publishing the information, you comply with all relevant legislation. For example, the information provided may be protected by copyright under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 (as amended). If in doubt, please seek independent legal advice. For Ofcom’s policy on copyright and related issues, please refer to our website at http://www.ofcom.org.uk/about/accoun/disclaimer/

If you have any queries then please contact information.requests@ofcom.org.uk. Please remember to quote the reference number above in any future communications.

Yours sincerely

I had a similar reply:

Dear Mr XXXXXX
Freedom of Information: Right to know request
Thank you for your request for information regarding complaints against Redten Internet. Ofcom received your request on 17th April 2008and has considered under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (‘the Act’). I am writing to advise you that Ofcom has decided not to disclose the information you requested.
The information you requested is being withheld as it falls under the exemption in section 44 of the Act. Under this section information which we hold on this subject is exempt from disclosure since it was shared with us under our regulatory power and disclosure is prohibited under section 393 of the Communications Act 2003. Section 44 is an absolute exemption under the Act and does not require a public interest test.
It is likely that other exemptions will apply.

Had confirmation at the weekend that Clode had been served my court papers, just emailed them and asked if they wanted to settle now before court by cancelling my contract. I'll let you know if I get a reply.

Good luck essex.

Might be an idea for some if you list your heads of claim on deadten? I for one would be interested in launching a similar action this week and could use some guidance.
