I'm still here, too. As previously stated, have received e-mailed confirmation of cancellation of my finance agreement from Clode (never got PC, I think this is the difference), but haven't been able to get MAC, and obviously Redten are no longer answering their phones. Colderuk, any hints on how you managed it, if you're still around?

My concern is that once we've stopped payment, we lose the moral & legal highground. This would weaken our case.

I agree with Nedmundo although it cheeses me off.

"Justice" and "the Law" are not the same thing.
Our cause is just, but the law says we would be in breach of the agreement if we stopped making our payments.

Clearly, they're in breach of the agreement, but I won't give them the satisfaction of pointing the finger at me, saying I'm in the wrong!

I don't know if it's a good price. Am I buying or selling?

Still here...........still waiting for the due legal process, clode have 6 days left of my final ultimatum, then off to court.:j However I expect that they will meet this deadline with another standard letter(unsigned of course) and the process will begin again.

Redten have failed to respond to any communication from me in over 3 weeks..........don't see any point in bashing that brick wall anymore:confused:.

I've migrated to another ISP after getting my MAC 3 weeks ago.........still paying clode.......don't know for how much longer though;)

To all intents and purposes redten seem to have stopped trading? and are NON CONTACTABLE

I'm still here. Waiting for the next fabled Clode letter.

Fairly chilled about the whole thing now as I know it wont be what I want and then I can start proper the breach of contract issue.

The one thing that is bugging me more than the others is that despite more than 3 requests I am still without my MAC code. Surely Ofcom can do something about this. I want out.

I'm still here and check the posts daily.
To date, I've sent off six recorded letters to Clode and Redten/Deadten, but have only received the standard letters in response. I phone clode on average once every two days, but have given up trying to contact Redten. Keep up the good work on this forum, we must keep the pressure on. Well done for setting up the deadten website, it's been a fantastic source of information.
I will never settle for a deal, they have pushed me to breaking point.
    Good luck to you all.

    still angry
glad i have good friends and family close by with normal (decent) internet connections, just sending em links to anything big i want downloaded, then in the last 2 days of the month i'll spank that redten connection for all it's worth, just to ensure i cost redten as much money as possible.

    Update.

Had a call from Shiraz Jessa of Savastore (his own decision, I didnt push for it!). He was again apologetic and is going to try and push Clode to get a resolution today.

He asked me what I would do with my MAC and I said migrate to Sky, O2 or BT which he accepted. He also asked what I would do with the Clode agreement. I explained that I didnt want a bad credit rating so would leave it going but pursue a legal action to get out of the contract.

He accepted that Redten were, and I quote "!!!!ing us about" and that the whole state of affairs was a shambles.

Savastore have an interest in Redten as they have a Debenture on them as they owe them a lot of money, so that is where his interest fits in.

To cut a long story short he is going to talk to Clode about the options to get out, come back to me with some options and get my feedback before suggesting it to other people.

They key to this is that I have been nothing but polite and courteous to him in all our communications. Regardless as to whether or not he is involved, he is trying to help. Whether he gets anywhere is another matter, but it cant hurt for someone with some clout to get involved and try for a resolution.

I reitterated that I would be perfectly happy with unlimited access at the same or better speeds as I had with BT. I am not receiving this at the moment. He stated the Redten internet offer was subject to a fair usage policy which I agreed with and said I would never have been in breach of that, they can check the connection logs if they like.

I will feedback anything I can in due course.

Shiraz Jessa was in charge of watford electronics, who were behind Redten when it was launched in 2006.

Lets hope he has more joy with them, all I get now from Clode is they will look into it and get someone to call me back. Which of course they never do,
