Have been reading some computer mags these last few weeks and it seems there is an acute bandwith shortage. They claim that most ISP's have been selling on price alone and most users were content with just a few gigs a month so offering unlimited was easy. Now as more are suddenly are using BBC I-player, Utube etc coupled with faster speeds typical usage has dramatically increased for no exta income. Low numbers of 10 or 20 on contention ratios of 50:1 were common - now running at full capacity. Low prices have meant little investment to enlarge network for future. BT wholesale seem to be increasing charges. O2/Be look to be a good bet as they are seperate from BT but could get swamped - quite likely if Harlzter signs up!
I've still got 30 months to go with redten - somehow I just can't imagine lasting quite that long and not sure where to go next for a lasting solution.

Bandwidth shortage has nothing to do with Redtens actions its all down to increased cost otherwise they could use their widely accepted fair use policy to shape peak hours use and leave unlimited to none peak times I have about 20 months to go but I doubt if Redten will last that long with a little luck

Ive spoken to nicola dobson today. Clode and redten are having a meeting today and tomorrow. We will all hear the outcome soon.

Also have spoken to the OFT as the FOS cant help those who started contracts before April 2007.

OFT pass you to consumer direct who inturn escalated it to Trading Standards.

I just hope that both parties turn up as in the past when these meetings have been scheduled, has it not been that Redten Directors failed to turn up!
Also is this an indication that 1 or both parties acknowledge that there are outstanding issues still to be resolved?
