I used up my ammo on the last company that crossed me! Anyway, I'm not bothered about the MAC code yet - I just neeed to get out of this Clode agreement 1st.Beware the character seeking personal gain masquerading as a moral crusader.

Looking back every isp we have been with have fouled up on us, talk talk messed the billing up and "invited" us to leave early due to the amount of complaining we did about it, Tiscali messed up and ended our contract after about 5 months by mistake after putting a cease on the wrong order! Now this! Just wondering what o2 are going to do to us now!!!!:mad: Deadten Victim - Seeking Justice at Any Price :mad:0

Better take note of Harlzter
Every ISP he signs with seems to end in diaster!
Can we blame him for our troubles?
Have been reading some computer mags these last few weeks and it seems there is an acute bandwith shortage. They claim that most ISP's have been selling on price alone and most users were content with just a few gigs a month so offering unlimited was easy. Now as more are suddenly are using BBC I-player, Utube etc coupled with faster speeds typical usage has dramatically increased for no exta income. Low numbers of 10 or 20 on contention ratios of 50:1 were common - now running at full capacity. Low prices have meant little investment to enlarge network for future. BT wholesale seem to be increasing charges. O2/Be look to be a good bet as they are seperate from BT but could get swamped - quite likely if Harlzter signs up!
I've still got 30 months to go with redten - somehow I just can't imagine lasting quite that long and not sure where to go next for a lasting solution.0 -

Hi i'm new on here just found this site when I typed in Redten on google!! My internet went off on the 10th of March just like everyone elses, and the I got the letter from NJP Services I assumed everything would be okay but obviously not. I joined Redten in Jan 2007 but didn't get the free PC as they'd run out, instead they offered me cheaper monthly payments which was fine until the 10th of March. Can someone please tell me what to do now, my internet is on a go slow when it actually works, Ive e-mailed Redten quite a few times without a reply, also NJP for my MAC code but was told that was Redtens job. I told them I was going to my bank to stop payments being taken but am I able to do that since I'm under contract?? If anyone can help I'd really appreciate it, I've also signed the petition can I get my friends to sign it who aren't with Redten??
Thanx Lostangel :A0 -
It depends on to whom you are making the payments. If you are paying Redten directly, you could argue that you are no longer under contract. You get get Offcom to or BT to force a MAC code. Then you could just migrate and stop payments. I doubt that Redten could come after you for that.
If it's via Clode, then you would need to speak to them. They're agruement is that our finance was for the PC (not true) but if therer isn't one involved, that should make things simpler.Beware the character seeking personal gain masquerading as a moral crusader.

Right, today is D Day for me - been PROMISED a call from the MD of Redten at lunch time, will of course report back once he has called me (or not as the case may be)
Second round of RD letters will be going out this afternoon if the resolution isnt what I am after. I am NOT paying Redten any more money than I already do, and I will not pay to keep the PC. Dont need it. They can have it.0 -

That is what they told me you have to contact the regulating body of Clode, have asked Nick Davies for the name of their regulating body, but no reply yet, originally asked Mark Jenkins but apparently he was made redundant yesterday, and referred me back to Nick Davies, the thick plottens, it's worse than a TV soap, and the story lines almost as thin.
Phoning RT as I am typing this, have been disconnected once after several minutes of ringing and would you believe no reply after another several, still will keep trying, oh my word disconnected again after 6 minutes of ringing, now what a surprise.
