Hi folks, been busy this week and only just caught up with the last few days posts.
Received Clodes latest standard letter today but I had already sent them another recorded delivery letter which was delivered to them on same day. Reminded them that Redten still had not notified me of any change to my terms and I therefore rejected any revised terms they may have published in the last 30 days. Gave them 30 days to honout their contract or solicitor will take over and serve a civil tort for breach of contract.
I like the idea of involving trading standards and will contact them next week. I know that it is the trading standards officers local to the company who investigate but if more and more trading standards officers from around the country start to contact Redten's local trading standards officers, it will increase their suspicions even more. Nice thing about TSO's is that they have the power to bring charges straight away if they consider offence to be sufficiently serious. Any such prosecution can be used by us as evidence that we are dealing with unscrupulous people.
Keep the pressure up on Clode. Don't let them begin to think for one minute that this matter has been resolved. The latest letter is more puff to try to put us off. They know they are liable and that this is rapidly getting out of their control, hence the desperate tactics they are beginning to use.
I think redten have gone as far as they are prepared to and Clode know this. As a result they are now beginning to twitch and their best tactic is to bluster and hope that we will run out of steam and dissipate. All we have to do now is hold our ground and the deadlines we have given Clode. If they expire without a satisfactory response, a half decent solicitor will be able to draft out a civil tort for breach of contract and damages based upon the evidence we already all have. Clode's insurers will do the rest as I know from experience that when you are being sued, it is your insurance company that will decide whether to defend the case or settle out of court. Ha Ha.. it's usually a term in the contract.0 -

Firstly, a fairly minor point with regard to info that I think Ironside originally provided - as far as I can see, the legal requirement for a month's notice/right to terminate without penalty is actually contained in clause 9.3 of the General Conditions issued by the Director of Ofcom under Section 45 of the Communications Act 2003, not section 9.3 of the act itself.
See here for the full text of these general conditions: http://www.ofcom.org.uk/telecoms/groups/mandb/docs/mb_gcoe030722cond_final0703.pdf
The Act itself is here:

Thank you for the correction. The link I followed was incorrectly titled and I have brought it to the attention of the website administrator.
I think the petition is an excellent idea and shall add my name - up to 50 now
Good luck everyone.0 -
The lack of information received from the 'dark' side is unbelievable really:mad:
We need to keep this going cos 'they' obviously think by playing the waiting game we will crawl away and disappear.
I realise that in a lot of companies the customer services are a joke;but clode/redten have taken it to another level;surprising in this day and age what with all of the regulatory bodies etc.
I think its all the lying and deceit thats doing it for me:rolleyes: ...never seen such an obvious 'cover-up' job:lipsrseal
My speed dropped to 200kb last night...it just gets better!0 -

Hopefully Redten will go bust soon and everyone who is on this thread gets what they want.0 -
Ok let me give you figures about this problem, nobody apart from Redten/Clode know how many people are affected, but in the past week I've had over 1000 unique visitors to the http://www.deadten.com site. In the past week over 76 different people have posted messages to this forum. 54 people have signed the petition at http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/DeadTen/index.html
I was told by another forum member that Clode have over 300+ written complaints.
Keep up the good work people.0 -

I don't know how these idiots remain in business! I sent recorded delivery letters last saturday to Clode & Redten. I explained that, despite being a customer since Nov 06, I had not been migrated to NJP and that I had been unable to contact them by phone. I also explained that I had moved home in July (allowing Redten to stiff me for another £50 "reconnection fee") and provided my old address to help them find my records. I gave them 10 days to end my contract.
Today the postman brought me the unsigned, stock letter from Clode (dated 7th April) which has been posted here already by other customers. According to them my connection has now been re-established... well it has since 9th April...with TISCALI AFTER I USED MY MAC AND DROPPED YOU USELESS TW*TS LIKE A BAD HABIT!!!
END MY CONTRACT YOU DIVS0
