  • I've been reading this thread for some time without registering but finally cracked today when I got standard reply number 3 from Clode telling me that as I have service from NJP they 'consider this matter resolved'. Aargh!!
I was never transferred over and ended up going with sky as I used the MAC code given by BT.....have never heard from Redten or NJP and advised both Clode and Redten that I considered they were in breach of contract when they ceased supplying my unlimited broadband. Told Clode in my first letter sent 11/03/08 that I would stop my direct debit because of this if I didn't get a satisfactory response. I don't consider 3 standard letters, none of which relate to my circumstances, to be a satisfactory response and this 3rd one is a doozy. Have rung Clode today and Vicky (how unhelpful was she?) said noone will deal with telephone enquiries, you have to write. What do they think I've been doing????? Anyway, I cancelled my direct debit before this month's payment was due- I refuse to pay for services I am not receiving. I honestly believe if more people do the same, Clode will have to sit up and take notice.
And as for their scattergun approach with these standard letters - I think they are 1)trying to ensure they can't be criticised by Ofcom for not responding within reasonable timescales to complaints and 2) hoping that if they fire out several official letters (one of which refers to illegal downloads)some people will simply give up and go away. This will then enable them to deal with the (few) ones who persist in making complaints, after hopefully getting rid of the majority. Disgusting tactics, but I work in government and I know how systems like this work.

I'm in a similar position. I was never transferred either. I sent recorded letters to Clode and Redten on the 3rd. They have both been received and signed for but I've not had anything in reply! I notice the b******s still took their direct debit this week though:mad:

We could have 10000 anon's but they could all be false. Think we should put real names on the petition

I agree entirely, have used name and email address, Clode and RT know who we are and why should WE hide as if we have done something wrong!!! say it as it is just do not defame or slander, or give others ammunition to use against you

i could make up a thousand false names i dont think its really important, some people dont want there name plastered all over the net.

If you insist on people putting details on the petition some people might stay away from it for fear of being mocked for being anon.

It will serve its purpose anon or not cferrism can verify email addresses .

And that's EXCACTLY why, I suggested that maybe essex could host a page, get people to post their RBB numbers and say if not their name their mse username or whatever
BUT if we're inviting users on mse to view deaten.com and then the media pick up on this story, then because it's already on deadten.com then any media person can also see all the other letters etc on that site

If we have a petition then that yet another resource we are making media type find out about
lets just KEEP IT SIMPLE, post on essexs website, where ALL the useful info is already

Or even better, in case its taking ages until you get the conformation email from MSE, like it was for me so that I could post on here

How about we ask essex to allow everyone to post their RBB numbers to http://www.deadten.com/
and then if essex is able to maybe he/she could start a new page devoted to just customer numbers

We could then get more exacting numbers and start bullying these cowboys into dealing with us, due to our numbers

This could also play well for us, in case we do actually and finally manage to get the media interested in what we're all going through.
As it is at the minute any complaints that Watchdog, BBC etc etc receive because they won't be able to substanciate the numbers of RT customers involved in the dispute as REDTEN won't talk to anyone and everyone else seems to be burying their heads in the sand, if like has already been stated that there are 1000's of customers involved, this would surely make for a HUGE story commercially and would mean serious brownie points for whoever exposes the unlawful and unhand tactics employed by this very shady family.

Oh and a message for the Troll, get back under your bridge and eat the doggy dirt you deserve, you are a disgrace to the human race, you might have made millions out of us normal hard working honest folk but what goes around comes around.
More than happy to do this, haven't got time to set anything fancy up so use the contact/email me button on the site and just put your rbb number. I'll only post the number no other details

Hi all and our new reader!!

I have had a busy day today in one way and another. First sorry I missed you at work Hugo will try again on Monday. Next I spoke to Consumer Direct. Lovly lady and straight away she has passed all the files onto Trading standards. They will be in touch within five days. Look forward to that. But if you are wondering who the new reader is well I had a long conversation with a very friendly lady who works for the press. Not watchdog but local to where Mr Gulzar is living. So hopfully By next Thursday our story will be in print in Reading. I wish all the best to her reading through this lot and I have sent all my details to her.
