Hi all and our new reader!!
I have had a busy day today in one way and another. First sorry I missed you at work Hugo will try again on Monday. Next I spoke to Consumer Direct. Lovly lady and straight away she has passed all the files onto Trading standards. They will be in touch within five days. Look forward to that. But if you are wondering who the new reader is well I had a long conversation with a very friendly lady who works for the press. Not watchdog but local to where Mr Gulzar is living. So hopfully By next Thursday our story will be in print in Reading. I wish all the best to her reading through this lot and I have sent all my details to her.

Hi Hugo ,are you saying the petition a good idea but it should be on essex's deadten website ?
I was saying they are all good ideas..however.....
Surely if we're trying to get our plight noticed by the media then why make life difficult for anyone researching what has happened to us. essexs Deadten.com site seems to be regarded as the defacto place where Redten customers are posting useful info to help other customers, ie letters, pdf screenshots etc etc
I have signed the petition anyway but I don't think a link from Deaten.com to another site would help us much, if lets face it, we so far have had !!!!!! all coverage from the press, so why make anyone's life more difficult to find out the numbers of customers effected by this crappy situation by introducing another site to visit
Lets keep everything at Deadten.com, where WE don't get CENSORED!!!
:j Free at last :j

I disagree i think a proper petitition is better idea than just a list of account numbers.
Unless the petition can be incorperated properly into the deadten site,‘I am not a number, I’m a free man’0 -

Hi,
First post here - thank you all for all the information you've provided over the last month or so, it's been very useful. I'm in a similar situation to one or two others - signed up relatively recently, and have never had (nor do I expect to get) the equipment promised in the deal. Phoned Redten at the end of March, and they told me they needed Clode's permission to issue MAC, so immediately contacted them by mail - needless to say, the only response I've had so far is the two standard mails. I sent recorded delivery letters on 08.04, having received the second standard mail suggesting Clode regarded the matter as closed, so I'm giving Redten until 15.04 to issue my MAC before instigating further action, though of course I don't need to do so, since this is actually my second request - the first having been made in March by phone.
Two other points:
Firstly, a fairly minor point with regard to info that I think Ironside originally provided - as far as I can see, the legal requirement for a month's notice/right to terminate without penalty is actually contained in clause 9.3 of the General Conditions issued by the Director of Ofcom under Section 45 of the Communications Act 2003, not section 9.3 of the act itself.
See here for the full text of these general conditions: http://www.ofcom.org.uk/telecoms/groups/mandb/docs/mb_gcoe030722cond_final0703.pdf
The Act itself is here:
http://www.opsi.gov.uk/acts/acts2003/ukpga_20030021_en_1
As I say, fairly minor in that obviously it's the same requirement as quoted (although as someone else (FCI?) said, it's possibly covered in the Redten contract anyway), just thought I'd pass on a link to the document in question, in case anyone wants to quote it in their communications with RT/Clode. Signed the petition as anon today.
Secondly, the following pages may be of interest to you - this is a site I checked before I switched to Redten, thought I was safe enough as the only negative comment was from when they were just starting up, and seemed to suggest their biggest fault was not yet being entirely organised:
