This is an excuse cause they cannot afford any higher.

They dont even adhere to the laws that are in force never mind ones which might come in.

In any case how does restricting anyone stop copy right violations?

That's as ludicrous an excuse if I have ever heard one.

I have had my contract broken and terminated and under section 12.12 of those express terms of contract I am entitled to have my contract with Clode ended and given a mac to go elsewhere.

""We understand from Redten that this is a temporary measure introduced whilst they evaluate the recent industry concerns around illegal downloads of various forms of copyrighted media."" totally irrelavent they didnt have to place caps to evaluate usage!! and if they had done it for that exact reason then prior warning and such is needed and also that cap is still classed as "a light user amount via any isp thats worth thier wieght" a more reasonable usage for an average user should be around the 40gig mark at minimum which is still very limited for anyone that watches utube vids or tv or listens to any digital radio streams not alone playing intensive server based games or xbox live or what ever so thats no excuse either thats the fob off no law in place yet so no reasons to impose to monitor and to choke is a different kettle of fish is it not!!!

sorry clode it is not closed finnished with and i urge all to continue your cases nothing in that email is relavant in any way they have breached in other ways and just one breach in any area of the contract has the penalty of cancellation with no penaltys incured and no mark on our credit rating !!! and we keep the free pc as in what we have to prove it was free and what we was paying for unlimited broadband service and all the goodies thrown in me for one will not budge and am going all the way in not just wanting out but will sue for every little thing i listed in my letter so now you dont just get to terminate my contract and have done with it clean break and all its how far a judge will interpret how you have affected my day to day living and the breach of my privacy.

have they stopped selling blank cd`s dvd`s because you might put illegal stuff on it no!! have they stopped selling the equipment to make such things no!!!

sorry for the rant but im now very tired of all this and am going to switch on my fantastic pc up stairs which makes yours look like a kids toy and to mention i built all by myself and for a fraction of 500 pound twice the pc twice the looks and twice the value for money with no holds barred and best of all i can switch it on and not have it keep crashing and stuff because you never sent me the bloody restore disks i asked for in early 2007 when the problem started !! and i cant fix itbecause it wants the original set up disks ohh and this keyboard is rubbish its us and im british dont like my keys and symbols ni the wrong place its hard enough to type with being partialy dislexic like i am so good night.

I agree mac0, I suffer a disability too and having the internet is a lifesaver as with three kids and not driving I do 90% of purchases online especially the weekly groceries, its more than an inconvenience being netless it really is life affecting when somerhing you rely heavily on is snatched away from you, to an outsider who hasnt been through this they may think hell so what they cant get their emails or waste time on youtube, well clode/redten its more than that to us its as much a part of our lives as food, warmth and shelter is, you wouldnt take our kids food away from them would you?? No? well breaking news you did as the week we was without our internet we was unable to do our weekly grocery shop so was reliant on the basic stocks available in a local shop, the same with the week where we couldnt use our so called broadband because we had the tenacity to go over 5GB on our unlimited broadband account! How dare we have been so brazen?

Well clode/redten the direct debits have been cancelled, we cant get hold of you for proper communication so you will have to come to us! You can make a claim against us for outstanding monies but we already have a counter claim prepared, oh and just in case you win the case by some remote fluke I can always do a Jessa style stunt and declare myself bankrupt, you see? I have nothing to lose!!!

goodnight harlter and hope you sleep better than me i wake several times in the just check my connection is still alive sad i know but its how they have made me feel its worse than having the baliffs comming to your door ohh and they want to go that way i have famillly who do that job for a living too so i know all the rules they have to follow too there is nothing of any value here for you so i wouldnt even bother and just for the record incapacity benefit isnt great for credit anyhow so cant see how the effecting my rating will matter so happy times!!!

Just got my email from Clode. I think it's good news because it is the first thing in writting to say they have moved to a poorer service, therefore we have 14 days to cancel. Isnt that right?

Should weforward this mail to Ofcom and ask them if they have been contacted by Redten?

I don't see how a 15Gb cap stops piracy, it just stops the number of things downloaded.

We don't have a tv so the kids use iplayer, 4OD, ITV whatever all the time. iplayer / 4od is based on Kontiki which is a p2p program and will keep sharing when ur not watching. I think 1 hour streaming video is about 0.6 Gb.

I think ofcom must be sent this email.
