sorry to hear that essex
i have read all the posts on here and followed the deadten webpage
and i do feel i am in a very fortunate position in the fact that i have a faster internet now than i ever had from redten
however i do feel that my financial position might be somewhat affected by the fact that i moved so quick
at the time i felt i had to take action or the kids and wife would be unbearable with out the net (and myself)
i have posted letters to redten and clode and e-mailed them both i did this on the 24th asking for an agreeable solution to the sorry mess as yet i have had no reply
later this week i shall write again offering a suggestion lol
Hi walber99 and everyone else on this forum. I took BT's advice on day 1 as wasn't sure what was happening, now with my new provider and have been since the 17th last month. I now have to sort the clode side out, I,m keeping up the payments and emailed clode using part of one of the templates at deadten.co.uk - this is the reply I got earlier (they didn't even get my name right)!
Dear Mr Martin (not me)
Thanks you for your email below.
Firstly I would point out that your loan agreement 538734 dated 25/1/07 is a Consumer Credit Act regulated loan where Clode Funding Ltd agreed to finance your purchase of a PC and 3 year broadband package from Redten.
In return for this you are to make 36 repayments of £19.99 per month and to date you have paid the 14 payments due leaving a further 22 monthly payments to be made.
Under this agreement Redten supplied you with a PC and have arranged broadband connection. I appreciate that during March when Redten transferred the broadband from BT to NJP services that you experienced problems with the service during the changeover however this issue is now fully resolved and a full broadband services has been available for some time to all RedTen customers.
As a result you are now free to enjoy the services contracted by you under this arrangement.
I appreciate that there were temporary problems with the service during the changeover however these were quickly resolved within a reasonable timeframe and as a result did not breach the terms of your contract.
It was clearly your decision as to whether you wished to purchase another broadband service however your contracted service is fully available and you are still able to connect to this.
In light of the above we will require you to continue payment of your account and failure to do so could result in a poor credit rating and ultimately in legal action by us for recovery of your debt.
Regards
Nick Davies

Hi Handyandyg
Your circumstances are exactly the same as mine
and the letter you have recived clearly states
As a result you are now free to enjoy the services contracted by you under this arrangement
This is clearly an admission that the agreement is for internet unlimited which is something of a breakthrough
A copy of this letter may help others would it be possable to post it on the deadten site0 -

Just bumping this up. As you can see I have had 9 thankyous for this and if those 9 have sent their info in that is a good start to get OFCOM moving a little quicker. If REDTEN are in trouble financially a good sized fine from OFCOM would be very welcome in puting the cowboys out of business and in the process end our contracts by default. Am I too optermistic or just fed up make your minds up.
Ron.
Well done for that work, I have made 3 complaints to OFCOM so far, not on their monitoring but direct to an OFCOM officer. Each further complaint is logged as a separate complaint even though it is filed under the same number.
The OFCOM officer is attempting to contact redten through their sales number s this week and if he cannot get hold of them then he will support approached to BT to have redten/njp tags removed from any lines.
If he canot get hold of them they are travelling headlong towards a fine. The investigation announced at the beginning of last week was a direct result of the complaints that were lodged.
When you complain about redten DO NOT forget to complain about NJPServices as they are the ones to give you a mac code but are refusing until redten gives them the OK.
If redten demand payment or return of equipment before they wili issue a mac code this should be reported also as this practice is specifically outlawed by OFCOM.

Thanks Handyandyg
I feel sure my services that were contracted to me were unlimited broadband
the new njp service is not unlimited and of no use to me
They have clearly breached the contract on this point
i was also not informed of changes to my service in a reasonable timeframe this also breaches the consumer credit act
i could go on lol0 -
Reference Handyandyg, who are they trying to kid, RT have breached the contract as we no longer receive the unlimited broadband we were promised, come on Clode get real, and certainly the early contracts were NOT for a computer and broadband package, it was for supply of 36 months of UNLIMITED BROADBAND with a FREE COMPUTER, I sent you a copy of my order which clearly states computer £0.00 even my 5 year old grandson can get to grips with that, why are you trying to dress it up as something else???
Just in case you missed it in my letter to you I have posted it below[FONT="]
