I first heard about Redten from an advertisement in Computeractive magazine. Because of the advert, not only did I sign up for 3 years but so did a friend of mine & also my eldest daughter. So that's 3 of us cheesed off!!0

I think Redten are the first real virtual ISP ie; in name only. Come the 11/04/08 I think they will fold and we will all become members of NJP aka Fast4. Clode will just sit on it and state that we are all recieving broadband as per contract. Be it limited as apossed to unlimited, but I'm sure their lawyers are going over the contracts with a fine comb to find a loophole out of that one.‘I am not a number, I’m a free man’0

Just wondered as I never recieved one and I have sent 5 emails to clode. 2 of which have been read. Including one sent on the same day as a mate. He recieved the email?
Not sure what addresses you used. but one of these must of hit the spot. Have read receipts from them all0 -
This whole thing as got more twists, turns and unaswererd questions than a good episode of LOST‘I am not a number, I’m a free man’0

Hello All,
It's been very interesting watching everybody posting, apologies for not doing anything earlier though.
I see that those of you who signed up to the first deal are in a good position, but does anybody have any views on what the position is for those of us who signed up later? I signed up in November last year for the two laptop deal. Thought is was a good deal at the time especially as it came with unlimited usage.
At the moment I'm just altering Nedmundo's letters to my circumstances and will post to Deadten once done.
Many Thanks

A lot of the posts on here are from users signed up through Clode.
I paid upfront in Nov 06 for the full 3 years . On advice from Consumer Direct, I have sent letters to RT and NJP detailing breaches of contract, rejecting new T&Cs and given them 14 days (until 14 Apr) to respond. If, as I expect, they don't, my next step will be to approach the credit card company that processed my payment.
Just interested to hear how anyone else who paid upfront is tackliing this and if my route seems sensible.
[Btw, huge thank you to everyone that's posting on this thread :T]0 -
hi all
i signed up with redten february 2007
had great service untill the walled garden appeared and on that day i tried to contact redten ...no answer....so i spoke to clode who said they were as much in the dark as me
so i rang bt and did as the walled garden sujested and ordered bt broadband using the mac code
my bt connection went through by the friday and have been getting a much faster broadband than redten (was about 1.4mg now about 3mg)
last thursday i sent letters and e-mails to clode and redten asking for a solution to me no longer reciving the service im paying for through no fault of my own
and that after taking legal advice my actions were perfectly reasonable given the information i had at the time
i havnt heard anything yet from redten or clode
i feel for all those that have been burdened with such a terrible internet connection and consider myself lucky to only have the problem of getting the finnance agreement ended
