Yup! You're right of course. I'll go with that. By the way, this whole fiasco was started by RedTen on the pretext that they got a lot complaints about BT's Wholesale's service. I'd had no problems over the 15months before the 8day whole in my life! Was I just lucky? Lucky doesn't seem like the right word but you know what I mean:rolleyes:

I think you could be making a really good point. The service wasn't perfect but I had no reason to complain either.

A lot of the posts on here are from users signed up through Clode.
I paid upfront in Nov 06 for the full 3 years . On advice from Consumer Direct, I have sent letters to RT and NJP detailing breaches of contract, rejecting new T&Cs and given them 14 days (until 14 Apr) to respond. If, as I expect, they don't, my next step will be to approach the credit card company that processed my payment.
Just interested to hear how anyone else who paid upfront is tackliing this and if my route seems sensible.
[Btw, huge thank you to everyone that's posting on this thread :T]

    Welcome to the club:rotfl:
In your case, I suspect the credit card company may be in the same position as Clode is for most of us. If you have a legal helpline bolted on to any of your insurance policies then give them a call to find out, otherwise try citizens advice. Then it's a matter of sending off a letter of complaint to Redten (23 Castalia Square address) and copying it to your credit card company, pointing out their joint liability for any breach of contract/misrepresentation/criminal offence by Redten. Send all letters recorded delivery.
  • Hi folks

Have been following this thread with interest for days and grateful for all the advice. I have written recorded delivery letters to Redten and Clode and hope for the best. I shall follow up with small claims if necessary, but really don't want to get into all that. Is it possible that a group claim could be made? I know nothing about the logistics of this, but I am sure there are thousands of people out there who are going to get shafted and I don't want to be one of them. Also I am about to apply for a Student loan and really don't need a black mark against me on the credit front. This is so unfair! Oh and by the way I still cannot get outlook email. Have tried all the suggestions made on this thread to no avail. I now get the Logon on box come up when I send/receive and it doesn't accept the details I put in, which are the originals I was given. Anybody got around this problem?

If you are a student, go to the students union at your uni or college and they will assist you --even if your due to start rather than already commenced your course.

    Have you tried this?

I had the same problem down loaded program called incredimail off internet put in 84.45.23.34 into incoming pop and mail.redten.net into SMTP and pulled in around a dozen emails, still loads missing but at least it got some. Worth a punt anyway ( courtesy of jaypee )

set up an email account and use your old email address and password as normal.

    ...It worked for me
