Whilst I remember - those who have racked up their usage really quickly - and dont know why, its really worth running some virus scanning software etc, to make sure you dont have any backdoor trojans etc. I'm a heavy user morning and night (even have a backup server here for my websites) and my total usage so far this month has been 0.479 Gb total. The only thing I've stopped doing is watching youtube/iplayer, so that kind of usage is a little suspicious.

I would also recommend a program called TCPView (made by a really well known company called Microsoft ;) ) which lets you see what programs are using your network connection.

Of course if your on nntp/p2p/torrent sites its your own fault :D

Mind you quite a few visits to this page and you end up racking up the traffic.

I checked this using page 122 as a reference, clocks up at 212k, which is quite heavy, but then again if we've all become accustomed to broadband speeds then it's barely noticeable.

Just found this posted on a digitalspy forum on 13th March

"Just got through to a nice friendly chap at Fast4 internet who gave me the following info.

They recieved an order fom Redten on 11th March (Obviously after BT cut them Off) to switch it's customer base to Fast4.

The guy had my details and said the switch was going through on my line and would be complete by 18th March. He said that we had all been migrated (and so I'd be surprised if your MAC codes work.)

He said that the service we're being put on has only a 2gb download limit, hardly unlimited."

Anyone have any info to back up the claim that RedTen ordered the service early than that from NJP ?
  • Sent 2 nd letter via email to NJP asking that they remove my credit card details from their site as they should not have been transferred over. They should not have been retained by redten in the first place.

Another complaint to OFCOM and OFT. according to companies house public information they are overdue with their returns, another worrying trend.

Words really do fail me about Clode's attitude - WE ARE THE INNOCENT VICTIMS HERE

Mark Jenkins' refusal to provide you with a settlement figure amounts to a refusal for you to exercise your rights under SECTION 94 of the CONSUMER CREDIT ACT 1974.

So, please add this in your Court Action.

These guys are just digging themselves deeper and deeper in ****.

I think he means he was asking them for a deal rather than the amount that he owed.

Its on your account details in NJP members box

Course its missing from the letter we got from NJP which was after the fact and not before.

  • I myself contacted the complaints dept. at clode on the 11.3.2008, must have been Nicola I think who immediately went to redten to find out what was going on as she was unaware of the problem.

She was advised that the barring page was wrong and they were upgrading the servers to be able to supply 24 speed and would be re-connected by Thurs/Friday/Monday/ Tuesday/

She very promptly sent me an email to confirm this.

When the raise a ticket was active on NJP panel I asked for exact details of the service provided fast 4 replied that we were still Redten custonmers not fast 4 unfortunately that ticket reply disappeared along with the facility to raise more

The word TRUTH is totally alien to Redten Clode and Fast4

Like most I have had no reply to emails or recorded letters and the phone is simply lifted then hung up immediately all things come to he who waits NOT
    Who cares ??
  • By the way, has anyone ever been connected to 24 speed --there are about 40 exchanges converted over currently.

Clode should have quoted a "settlement" figure then, in accordance with section 94 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 rather than a "refusal"

A "settlement" figure is, after all required for the Court action

    Perhaps dafftbint will clarify?
