Mr.Gulzar told us these customers were not contracted to the broadband service, but would have to pay for their computer."There is a misunderstanding that the computers are free. They are not - the three year
finance deal people sign up for is to pay for a computer and the broadband is effectively free",he said.

    Absolutely DISGRACEFUL....lies, lies, lies

Pity they did away with the lynch mob

Here's an extract from an email I sent to Clode & Redten today. I sent it to Nick Davies, customerrelations at clode and care(yeh right!) at redten.

    "
Further to my email(s) below I have to date received no reply from either yourself, or Customer Relations at Clode. I rang your customer services on Friday at 13:07hrs and spoke to a lady called Biata. She was very polite and apologetic and logged my complaint, however, could not provide me with any form of update whatsoever and a promise that 'someone' from Clode would contact me in due course.

This farce has gone on too long. Today is the 21st day since the cessation of my original connection and the 12th day of a capped and unusable service.

I consider the following to be correct:

    1. Clode are jointly liable because of section 75 of Consumer Credit Act 1974.
    2. Redten have breached the Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982 by their unilateral change to our contract terms and conditions.
    3. By advertising an unlimited download service, subject to their published fair usage policy, and then providing a unilaterally capped service which we have to pay extra to overcome, they have misrepresented their service in order to entice us into the contract. As this is the case, I should be eligible for rescission (contract becomes void) or compensation, or both.

I would urge you to make contact with Redten on my behalf - as their customer service is pathetically non-existent - request that my contract be cancelled without penalty and issue my MAC within five days as they are legally obliged to do.

I would appreciate a reply as soon as possible, but expect my MAC by the 7th of April 2008."

    I'm not expecting much tho'.

    Will post if anything occurs.

    @philclem.

My original complaint read pretty much the same as that - I am going to keep firing emails till this whole mess is sorted.

We can see where this is going can't we?

Alarm bells started to ring when it was posted earlier on this thread that Clode said the finance deal was for the PC only.

My perception is that Redten seem to be buying time in order to get their house in order...ie get as much money out of the company as possible for the directors before it goes belly-up. We are then left with no broadband service, but still have to pay Clode for the PCs.

I dont have to pay Clode for any PC which was supplied to me as a free gift for buying 3 years broadband. I guess I am quite lucky in that I was one of the original customers who signed up in Nov 2006 and my PC was invoiced FREE and the broadband was 19.99 * 36.

Utter BS Mr Gulzar - and I dont care if you are reading this. I signed up to Redtens offer of 19.99 broadband with a FREE PC. I have the invoice to PROVE the PC was free and I even have a screen print of you ADVERTISING the PC as free. I signed up in November 2006 before you changed your t&c.

    Think again Mr Millionaire.

I have invoices too. I think Mr Gulzar should get one of his minions to fill him in and give him the background, I mean it's not that long ago is it?

Why would I pay £719.64 on an "interest-free" loan for a PC worth £500?
