I have been following all the recent posts with increasing interest.
I'm also a angry Redten customer who's been frustrated with the lack of communication and service. I have spent a small fortune on the phone to a company who just doesn't seem to give a monkey's about any of their customers.
Reading through all the posts (which took some time) it seems to be clear that Redten wanted us to migrate and don't seem to care about the consequences. I did get the MAC code but decided not to use it...where does it leave the poor users users who did migrate? (according to the direction on the BT web page)
It makes me sick that Redten is allowed to legally behave in this way and although the contract has been cleverly written, surely the consumer still has a great deal of power if we all work together...Redten must be made accountable for its actions...I'm with you all the way!!
I just hope any new users searching for broadband are fortunate enough to read this forum and give Redten an extremely wide birth!!
I personally would love to see Watchdog and trading standards trashing this sorry excuse of a company.
    Keep up the good work.

  • Colder, like I said before I think, I wouldn't worry mate. Unless you really need unlimited then you're better off than the rest of us. Follow the instructions in my post and I reckon you lot will be just fine. All it takes is some time.

any chance we can have your real name to use as ammo when we contact clode

They won't discuss details with anyone else as that'd be against the data protection act. You can mention that you know someone who has been able to cancel so you'd like the same process as I have described to be followed for you and you might get a result too.

    I'm not going anywhere!!!

Please follow the instructions, give them 24 hours to get a reply from Redten and take it from there. All you need to do is to call Clode and tell them to contact Redten (same as my result post above) and then wait for the answer. My result came quite quickly but to be fair to them give them a day or two as I expect they'll get loads of calls now.

Note that I haven't sent any letters or anything through all of this, just e-mails and phone calls.

Anyway well done in getting yours cancelled guess you will have to sell the "free PC" to pay for the phone calls :D

Should this go any further then I would be willing to allow my case to be used as evidence. I wouldn't be appearing in court but I have no problem in using the case as an example that may well help you.
