  • The router I received is the one mentioned on their website as "modem" though the box states "adsl router". It's only a single-port one, so certainly more "modem" than "router".

Further tests have shown speeds similar to my old provider, so that may be a limitation of the line...

Just got mine too, that's exactly what I thought, not much different than a modem, but then that's what I thought I was getting so not disappointed.
  • The modem router I was supplied was a dynamode r-adsl c1-2 singleport router. Has usual nat/ firewall functions albeit via a special url and not main login page. BTW found the firmware to be very slow too

What date did you sign up sgt? Over a month ago for me and I still haven't heard anything about delivery.

  • Phoned Redten this morning to ask about the delivery date of the PC. They said that the deliveries had been delayed, and would be leaving the warehouse from the 18th of December.

I also asked again for the url of the portal to sign in to add extra email addresses, etc. The representative was pleased to tell me that the portal was now up and running at: https://myaccount.redten.net.

Progress! Great news! - However, all you get at that address today is: Welcome, Please note this site is currently under development.

    Oh well... The wait continues...

  • I just got an email stating:

We were hoping to have been able to deliver the PCs fir all of the sign-ups we’ve had so far, by the end of this week. Unfortunately, this has now been pushed back to next week as the first 10,000 units will not be arriving here until 14/12/06 as they were delayed coming into port due to inclement weather.

Your PC will therefore be delivered during the week beginning 18/12/06. We’ll confirm the exact date as soon as we’re able to do so.

You can create your additional email addresses by logging into the Redten web portal at https://myaccount.redten.net

The portal seems to be up and running now, though I don't have my login details with me, so am unable to test it out.

Still - something to play with over Christmas, if it arrives...

A shame they wait until we contact them to let us know of delays, rather than proactively informing people.

In other news, connection is stable and have had no problems with it (though it's a little slower than I would like at 2-2.5Mb downstream, but that might well be my line).

It is indeed. I have signed in successfully, and can report that although the content is very sparse, you can add additional email addresses and change passwords with no problems.

Now, has anyone managed to upload anything to the webspace yet?
