fangbang wrote:I have only come across one small problem, in that the motherboard has only one ide socket, and no spare connectors on the cable. So I can't plug my second hard drive - where I keep all my files - in. But again - easily solved.
I presume it has dual SATA/ IDE connection?
Thanks (in advance)

OK, here's the motherboard details.
It's a Foxconn. The model number is not visible, but it's one of these 4 possibilities, according to the leaflet: 945P7MC, 945G7MC, 945PL7MC or 945GZ7MC. Dunno what the difference is!
2 x DDR2 DIMM slots
1 x FDD connector
1 x IDE connector
4 x serial ATA connectors
2 x PCI slots
1 x PCI express slot

anyone know if it's possible and if so a rough cost to upgrade to core 2 duo or some other better processor, I guess that and the graphics and maybe ram are the only things lacking?0

Changing the processor (& most probably the motherboard too) plus graphics card will/may:
1. Invalidate the whole deal?
1. Invalidate the PC's 365-day telephone support & 3-year warranty?
2. Require the OS to be reinstalled & re-activated? RedTen/LG/Microsoft might object?
3. Require a better/more powerful power supply too?olderama wrote:i tell ya what if they did this offer with a laptop or a desktop then i think they would be on a winner0 -
Don't think I'll be changing the processor after all, will prob buy a separate pc and sell the monitor that comes with it. Depends on how well this plays cnc3 with a graphics card added, if it doesn't play too well the I'll get another. Only really took this deal to prove to my mates that I could get my hands on a free pc! Sort of wishing I hadn't cos it's gonna cost a few hundred extra over my previous broadband and I'll probably have to get anothr pc anyway. It'd do for a media pc or a spare pc to play multiplayer games if a mate comes round.0

It sounds pretty fair to me and thanks for pointing out the 10% off for up front payments... I think I'll try and explain this deal to my Mam, it has to be better than the cheapest PC worl PC with AOL BB for 3 years...
Also will you def be protected if you use a credit card please???Hello :j  :j0 -
Sounds good and a free upgrade to 24Mb when BT upgrage the lines. BUT is 8Mb, 8Mb. These new broadband connections are 8Mb max connections. It is very rare that you will get 8Mb though. I upgraded my F2S account from 2Mb @ £19.99 (and getting about 1.8 Mb download speed) to an 8Mb max account for £14.99. and am now only getting half the speed. No Links in Signatures by Site Rules - MSE Forum Team 20

I have a BT account with "up to 8MB Broadband" but the line can only cope with about 4.5MB at best. You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.0
