    Hello

I have inherited a dog. Unfortunately, after a brief stay in hospital over Christmas/New Year (where I had agreed to take care of him temporarily) the dogs owner has sadly passed away.

I have posted this morning on dogpages ( http://www.dogpages.org.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=236334 ) Hope this is allowed, if not, feel free to remove it.

I was wondering if anyone else knew of any other rehoming forums.

I am not a pet owner myself so have no experiences of using those type of forums.

I did go on preloved but something about the adverts on there did not feel right.

If I could, I would have him myself but I cannot and I don't really want to have to take him to a rehoming centre or at worst the dog pound as I promised that I would find him a home should anything happen (which it obviously did :()

    Thanks for looking.

I am watching this situation all the time as the OP is selfless, yet saddled with a dog.
    She didn't expect this.
OP is trying all avenues on dog pages etc.
She is truely one of the good dog loving people.

What more can a dog lover do?

Can we do anything at at all for her and Bailey?
Collectively, or when it comes to it, we really couldn't give a damm, it seems.

What are we doing in other words, apart from pontificating on a forum.

We say this and that here.

I would like some action to match our mealy mouths.

    Frugalista
    Hethmar
Suki ...... you all for starters.

    Let us get Bailey rehomed.

One done, how good would that feel? Xx

Sorry haven;t read right through this thread, what age is this little dog? If he's older have you contacted the oldies club, or the cinnimon trust?

He's only 12/18 months so no where near an oldie yet, I'd hoped that he would have been re-homed by now.

    Jeez that's such a shame :(

Have you thought of making him a facebook page, and spreading the word about him through there? Get as many folks as possible to share... most doggy folks I know have lots of rescue peeps on their friends list.. just a thought, a bit of viral marketing wouldn't go amiss ;)

I'm more than happy to put this on my f/b page, have loads of rescue centre as friends. Is there a direct link to Bailey.
  • how about contacting the local news and make a feature of the story?

    Hi everyone

Sorry for not updating before now.

I managed to rehome him three days ago to a lovely family this time through the Yorkshire Rose Rescue site (he went straight from me to them so no need for kennels). They are only 5 miles away from me as well and have updated me via email as to his progress. Looks like he is settling in great. I however, am finding that I am really missing him but I guess I will get over it. They are going to keep me updated and have offered to let me visit him. I really wish I could have kept him as I grew really attached to him but it was just not possible.

I would like to thank everyone for their advice especially Padstow. I did not see your posts until this morning.

    Regards
    H
