I still have him. He is on http://www.yorkshirerosedogrescue.co.uk/needingahome.htm and I put him back up on dogspages and petforums.
Still hoping to get a new home for him.

If he got any replies, we could sort out travel between us.
The rescue I was thinking of are sinking with the strain of dogs they've taken in, so that's out.
Of all the possible dog problems, barking in the house is curable, mind some people like a dog who barks a warning.
I can't think of any other way to help.
Unfortunately the fact he is with you could count against him being adopted. He is not in a kennel to be viewed and walked. Another thing is, he is comfortable.
When I saw mine advertised in kennels, there was another I liked in a foster home. Immediately, my daughter said no, as the one in kennels had a more urgent need. She was right of course.
Problem is, if he goes to kennels, you have no more say or right, he's theirs! Catch 22.0 -

Killing time to see whether we can help OP. Keeping Bailey must be draining OP's resources. Saving money is what we are about.
Can't believe that helping a friend has caused her so much trouble.

I'm only across the border from you, I could put his pic and a letter from him in all the local vets if you wish, with my phone number.

Hi Padstow
How far away from Doncaster are you? (I am DN6) That’s a great idea regarding putting up an ad in the vets. It would all depend on distance though. I do not mind travelling to take him to his new home, but if it did not work out (like last time) then I would want him back rather than him go to kennels (sucker for punishment). So would need to take distance into account.
I do think you are right regarding the kennels……… but I just can’t face him going into one no matter how much it affects me. I did email a ton of rescues at the weekend asking for advice (or if they could foster him) and all but one came back to me with the same, one line answer. “Can’t help, too full at the moment”. No advice as to what else I could try….. There was only one (apart from Yorkshire Dog Rescue) who said they would be able to help if a space became available but again that would mean he would go into kennels……
I need to pull my finger out now and concentrate on local advertising. My mums vet will not allow adverts but I am looking into where else I can put up adverts locally at the moment (pet food shops, pets at home etc….) but I have been wary of putting my details out there which is why I have not done it before aand hate the thought of strangers knocking on my door (don't have anyone who can wait with me). Think I will just put an email address on the adverts. But it then begs the question of how do you know if someone is genuine? I thought I had chosen the right people for him before but I really misjudged them. My problem is I am far too trusting and take everyone at face value!0 -
What would it take for you to keep Bailey? Money being no object.0

It's not a case of money (okay, a lottery win would alow me to live in a house and pay for a full time dog sitter!), it's being able to get out with him, I am always in a lot of pain and I really struggle to get out of the flat for walks. Plus the fact that I am often in hospital more than I am out of it and don't have anyone who can take him for weeks (or even days) at a time.
He needs someone who does not need to be in bed for most of the day!0 -
Right, sorry I didn't realise.
There is a request for a whippet type dog on dog pages http://www.dogpages.org.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=237433 They are willing to travel.
If you get interest from someone a distance away from you, don't be put off as I'm sure we could work something out.0 -
