Need a home for a small x breed - owner passed away

He was assessed by Yorkshire Dog Rescue yesterday. Unfortunately, they do not have any fosterers that can take him in. The Assessors came with their Jack Russle and they got along fine so he is going to get a positive review. I have also been emailing other rescues but have had no replies as yet. Came down with a chest infection yesterday so I am struggling at the moment.
Had to say no the lady from dogspages as she lived too far away and I thought that they might be able to take him in.
Made the decision that he should be rehomed through a shelter afterall (unless I can find someone local) as I don't know if I could take having people have him for a couple of days and then bringing him back, it's too upsetting. Better going to someone who has been assessed and is willing to pay a fee to a rescue.
So yes, I still have him for the moment.0 -
I totally understand where you are coming from. I'm so sorry for the messing around you've had. Belle sends big slobbery kisses to Bailey...and I send big hugs to you. xReduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

I still have him. He is on http://www.yorkshirerosedogrescue.co.uk/needingahome.htm and I put him back up on dogspages and petforums.
Still hoping to get a new home for him.

I thought Bailey wouldve been snapped up - he's such a sweet looking dog and small affectionate dogs are usually in demand. Unfortunately I guess a lot of people with the time and patience to take on a hyper young dog would much prefer to take on a pup.
When I first met my older dog she was a year old and ran around the room like a loonie!! But she soon settled to be a wonderful companion and brilliant with kids. Our younger dog was 9 months when we took her in and because she had been ill treated, she was so nervous we couldnt even get her in the house for hours. Two years on we still have a few problems with her - ie she pees if she feels threatened and barks at strange men - but shes such a soft mutt who never bothers our house-rabbits.
All Bailey needs is someone with a bit of patience and time. He'll be wonderful. I'd happily take him if i only had one dog.XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX:wave:XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX0 -

Aww, thanks for that. I completely agree, all he does need is a bit of time and effort....0 -
