Flat feels so quiet and empty this morning.

Its amazing how he managed to break my heart after only 6 weeks! Have tears in my eyes now. Don't know what to do with myslef! Ill get over it though as he will definately be better off where he is now than with me. I could give the love, shelter and food but not the exersize and mental stimulation that he needed.....

I just wanted to say I think that you have done a great job. :T

No wonder you are upset 6 weeks is a long time and it would have been impossible not to get attached to him, but you have done the right thing for him :) I'm sure his owner (RIP) would have been happy and grateful for all your efforts.

Have you ever thought about getting a pet, do you like cats they are also great fun & company but more independent than dogs! There are So many needing homes too :(
    Just a thought! ;)

Glad you can visit him if you want to.:D

    Sending you big hugs.

I'm so glad he has a loving home to go to, well done for looking after him it couldn't of been easy for you. Atleast you can sleep at night knowing you did your best for him.

    Sending you massive hugs

Yes, been told I can visit. They are about 30 miles away so not a problem. Will not go for a while yet as I would not want to upset him.....

He'll settle quickly - If you think how attached he has become to you in six weeks (and not to mention you to him :() he'll do just the same with his new family.

Well done you for sticking with it and finding him the best home :T

When we had to rehome our JR last year we were lucky to find a lovely lady who live fairly close by and she said we could see him as often as we like. We intended to leave it 2 months before we saw him again but after six weeks she called us to ask our advice about something and we ended up popping round with some bits and pieces for them. So glad we did as we could see how happy he was - how happy they both were - and it certainly put our minds at rest.

We see him every three weeks or so now and he's always happy to see us but is definately HER dog now and not ours. I still have a tear or two when we leave him but they are tears of happiness. :D

So, yes give him time to settle but do go and see him - it will be good for you both.

Things have not worked out. New owners are returning him tomorrow. He is too "high energy" for them. Back to square one I guess...............

I've just read this thread and was so pleased that he found a home and then read your last message :( They haven't given him a chance at all. We got a springer spaniel 9 days ago and he has changed so much in that time.

I hope you manage to find him a nice new home.

Oh for f*** sake what do they expect he's still a very young dog, ah well better now than in a few weeks when he had bonded with them. I'm keeping everything crossed that the right home for him is just around the corner.
