I agree with you Grumbler. I as such dont expect them to refund the amounts so easily. Tried on my wifes account and they refused even though the amount was just £5. Wouldnt expect them to easily say yes to £66!! They have given her the customer service address. we will be sending a formal complaint with cc to Ofcom. Lets see what happens. In the meanwhile awaiting my own bill so that I can try myself and see how it goes. WIll keep u guys posted:beer::beer::beer:0 -
Guys,
I signed up to Orange on the 29th of April blissfully unaware that Orange had changed there stance on Simply Fone.
Interestingly there is no change to there contractual documentation to reflect this. I signed up to a T-mobile OVP deal that states they will reflect the Competitor tariffs and states in the legally binding price guide that the minutes includes calls to all UK mobiles.
Now,
I just called them to confirm whether or not I would continue to get free calls to this number (as I do now with T-mobile) and they said no. I asked how the price guide had been changed to reflect this and they said it hadn't (or they couldn't find it)
So I asked whe they had changed it (mid April) but I signed up under the exisiting legal contract which didn't reflect this change.
So now I am interested in finding out if the clause in the contract that allows termination for (and I quote) "4.3 You may also terminate your Contract if we vary its terms, resulting in an excessive increase in the Charges or changes that alter your rights under this contract to your detriment"
This excerise does not require you to pay your minimum term amounts as early termination usually requires.
I am thinking of calling today and cancel my PAC and then draft a letter and send it in. See what there response is.
As you people were already with them you have 1 month from the time of them telling you of the change (not sure if they actually haven't told you properly though). So you will need to decide quickly.
BTW reading this clause makes the timing of the change very ducious. Most billing dates are the third and the 1 month would be claimed from the 12th of April. A lot of people probably would miss this change before the time limit ran out. Hmmmmm (I think I am a cynic)
If you want to try it on then the clock is ticking guys.
Tell me how it goes.

Can't you just cancel because you're in the first two weeks of your contract? I know Tmobile won't let you but am fairly sure all the other networks do.0

says on my new voda contract thatr i can cancel up to 14 days & must return phone in perfect, unused condition.
i would recommend cancelling & movingf to o2 &/or tmobile.
hope orange go bust for stoppin use on 07744 numbers..

My 1st May bill had two calls on it for the Simply Fone access number. The first one on April 4th - taken out of inclusive minutes. The second one - April 6th - charged for. About the middle of April I did notice the network 'Calling Card' Orange message and so never rang it again.
Thanks to these posts, I rang Orange and told them that the network message was not implemented until 12th March - so it is unfair to charge for calls before that date. The guy said hold on - came back and he said that my information was correct, the network message only went on on 12th March so they would refund me the call charge. Result.
PS. I actually had to ring Orange twice - the first time the 'Customer Advisor' would not budge - no refund - so I left it 6 hours, and got someone else who was far more understanding.I say barkeep -put at little more ice in there will you - theres a good chap.0 -

If you're on O2 you can use other providers 0844 and 0870 numbers for many destinations; that might mean the 07744 numbers take longer to come to their attention0

I ordered from Mobileshop the o2 deal on Friday - choose se t630 rather than the v220. They also confirmed tariff downgrades after 6m are permitted so I went for the 200 min tariff with 300 cash back. Lets hope no cb problems!I think....0
-
this might sound silly, but anyone know if its ok to upgrade this 100 O2 to 200 after the 'double minutes' for the 1st three months?
it does clearly say-stay on the tariff for minium of 6 months, but i need the minutes and dont wanna carry 2 or more fones! :mad:0
