    Thanks LtM :)

I'm posting tonight because I'm off on Saturday to Italy for a couple of weeks, and probably won't get much of a chance to post while I'm away.

I just wanted to wish everyone a good MS couple of weeks, and I look forward to catching up on everyone's diaries when I'm back online.

Hi everyone, I had a great time in Italy... the first week teaching English to the schoolkids was challenging, but great fun. Would definitely do it again next year if they want me. The second week I just stayed with my bro and SIL and nephew. I did nothing for a week, and now feel very fat and flabby! It was my nephew's first birthday on Sunday so we had a little party, and then everyone stayed on to watch Italy lose the football :(

Just to make everyone really jealous, it was hot and sunny for the whole two weeks!

Was meant to take the rest of the week off work, but they managed to get the big deal signed, so I said I'd come in and help move the implementation process along. I'm a sucker for punishment, although can't complain about the extra income. I'm now working for two weeks, and then I've got a training course the following week, and then the Olympics start. Yippee!! I'm doing 8 days volunteering at the tennis at Wimbledon, then on the 13th Aug I've got a wedding to go to, then on the 16th I fly to Brazil for two weeks... I can't wait :)

And, best of all, work wants me back after Brazil, in September. They are making noises about making me permie, but I will believe that when I see it. If they want me back as a contractor they need to give me a project, though, I can't do BAU for tax reasons.

I'm off to Winchester overnight to see my bro, who is working there for a couple of weeks.

I've just cut my lawn... again! It grew to knee high in the space of a month!

I hope everyone has been well!

Well after having a very thrifty first week in July, this week has been a shocker! I was out three nights this week, and I also needed to buy some new socks and other <ahem> items!

Then my favourite petite designer sent an email this morning to say she's having a sale, so I have bought lots of fab clothes... not cheap, but every thing will be worn _and_ it will hopefully sort me for the wedding I have in August.

It was also the farmer's market today, but I managed to resist buying too much - just some nice sausages, some eggs and some cherries... mmm

On the money saving side of things, I have managed to resell my Olympic tix! Am pretty pleased, as I am volunteering for the Olympics anyway, and my tickets are for the sailing in Weymouth, which is a struggle for me to get to, even though I do have the time off. I posted the tickets off today and should get the face value refunded. I sent them spent special delivery, which cost £5.90, but I'm still quids in :)

I did another online shop as I am getting a little low on stores.

I'm having a cooking weekend... I've browned some pork to cook in the slow cooker tomorrow, and will also make a curry.

I'm off to Brazil for three weeks on the 17th Aug, and my friend who is already there has been sorting our itinerary, internal flights and accommodation. I can't wait! We're going spend 4 days in Rio, then fly to the Pantanal, which is a huge wetland with amazing wildlife, and do a 5 day tour. We'll then fly to a place called Bonito for some R&R, and then 4 days in Sao Paulo. Then to Iguasu which is the big waterfall on the border of Brazil and Argentina, and then back to Rio and home. Hooray!!!!!

It's winter in Brazil, but I really hope it's a bit warmer and dryer than here! I am tempted to get my hot water bottle out tonight, it's freezing!

Oh, forgot to say. I still don't know what is happening with work. They definitely want me back, but they don't know if as a permie or a contractor! The CIO did tell me that he wanted me permie, but he has now gone away for three weeks, so nothing will happen before I go to Brazil!

Doesn't matter, it's not the end of the world - just a fact of life of being a contractor, and if I lose a week or two work, that is what all the spare cash I stash in my offset account is for!

Hi TYO, yes, I planned this year to be my 'summer of fun' I've already spent a couple of weeks in Italy (getting paid to teach English on a school camp too!) and then volunteering for the Olympics and then heading for Brazil. I made all my plans with no expectation that work would ask me back, so the fact that they want me back is great.

I have a long to do list today, and have got through most of it which is a great feeling. The slow cooked pork casserole smells great, and there was enough sauce left over to freeze as a portion of pasta sauce. I now need to do the curry I'm planning and cook up my tiny stash of morello cherries into jam... mmmmm.

In gardening news, it is such a dissapointing year! I will hopefully get some beans as they are covered in flowers, and I'm also getting more raspberries and wild strawberries than I deserve (but not enough to freeze) after moving them. However the courgettes are looking extremely sad, as are the tomatoes. Luckily I didn't spend a huge amount on them (perhaps £5 in total?) as the returns are going to be very low!

I have some washing hung on the line, and am anxiously keeping an eye on the sky which is getting darker and darker. Aaaaargh!!!

I hope everyone is having a good weekend.
