Has anyone else been flatly refused? I've had a sky contract for 12 years and have sky world with HD and multiroom, I spoke to them earlier and was told I'm not eligible for any offers even the guy at customer services thought it was weird, just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience.

Phone again, different operator, say you need to save some money, times are hard.
Worked for me and i'm not on as much of a package as you.
  • Thanks, I tried that too and got the same answer, it just seems very strange that there's nothing they can offer me.

Just got onto sky with the freephone number (saynoto0870) and got through to a lady in India by the sound of it. She was confused and didn't know where to put me through to, so I asked to go straight to cancellations, seemed easier to go straight to where I always end up anyway.

After a 10 minute wait (glad I'm not paying for that, thanks Mr Murdock) got through to the Scottish call centre and was told that as there was 8 days still left till my 6 month half price offer ends, I can't be offered anything else.
So I asked to cancel "why do you want to cancel?"....

Well, because if I ring up in 8 days then ask to be given a special deal and you don't give me one, then I was going to cancel anyway, so I might as well do it now, so I don't have to be on the phone for another 15 minutes then.

"ah yes, but if your account has a cancellation on it, then you can't be offered any deals"

Well for one thing, I can live without sky tv thankyou very much and for another, it's never stopped you ringing me up and offering me deals before!!

    LOL

Whenever this topic comes up, it seems the people who are the very long-time customers who spend a lot are the least likely to get an offer. It's not fair, but it's apparently how their marketing is set up -- maybe their stats show that people with it for a long time are less likely to be willing to change providers, so you don't have to tempt them to stay.

If you really want a deal and don't mind a bit of faffing about, you could always change to Virgin and get their deals for a year, then see what Sky will offer you -- I bet you'll suddenly have some good offers in the system!

My half price 6 months TV package ends this weekend. I've tried registering for the 2 months moviews but I'm told "You are not eligible for this upgrade". Am I better off waiting a few days until my current offer expires and try again? Has this worked for anyone else?

Just phoned as my previous 6 months half price offer ended three days ago. No quibbling at all, offered me straight 25% off for 12 months. Im not in a Virgin cable area so dont have anything to haggle with really so Im quite pleased with this.
I don't know if I'm getting better or just used to the pain.

Yeah I have just been told there won't be any offers on my account for the forseeable future. twice in the past I have tried and cancelled and each time they have taken my cancellation.

Cancelled my Sky on 6 June, they offered me 6 months half price but i took a gamble and said no. Didnt mind too much as the football season had finished. Sky went off on 6 July. I got the letter last Friday offering me 12 months half price which i took up. Gamble paid off

i've been with sky about a month now, and I really want to add sky sports, but not at the £20.25 price tag. What are the chances of me phoning up and getting it for half price etc ?!
