New study concludes that Andrew Wakemens Study was not just done badly but was a falsification. :T

Good news of true science and common sense and should be of relief to lots of parents.

  • When was this published? My sister told me his "research" was all falsified about 18 months ago.

Lets see, the BMJ has published yet another attack on Wakefield claiming his findings were falsified - so whats new there? they do this periodically. So does the Lancet.
The problem being that Wakefield used only anecdotal evidence, and the thing is, even now parents are claiming that their child was developing normally untill they had the MMR Vaccine.
Unfortunately the medical establishment will NOT accept anecdotal evidence - and its almost impossible to prove whether MMR is responsible for cases of Autism or ADHD in a lab. How do you test for it? Autism and ADHD were known (just) before the MMR came into use.
My own feeling is that there has been a massive increase in ADHD, Aspergers and Autism since the MMR became the only vaccination option. I also saw a complete difference in my own baby when he had the first jab and I refused the others because I went with my instinct (and that was years before Wakefields report). my daughter also regrets letting her child have the MMR - after the final dose he too changed and has now been diagnosed with Aspergers. try talking to a support group of Asperger or ADHD parents and you will be surprised how many think it was after the jab(s) that their baby changed personality.
Of course the tendency could already have been there - but the MMR may well have been the factor which excacerbated it. How could a study in the Lab replicate that? it cannot. so this argument will rage on for some time to come I suspect.

There were concerns about the MMR before Andrew Wakefield. Whether they are founded or not I have concerns about the vaccination schedule for babies these days, IMO it is far too intense. I believe his studies were in 1998, but there were concerns in 1994. The problem in proof is causation and correlation.
  • My DS has Aspergers and had his MMR...

but I noticed he was different BEFORE he had any of the jabs.

I have high functioning autism and learning difficulties. I was born in 1986 so didn't receive my MMR until I was in primary 3 (so aged around 8 years old). I was diagnosed when I was 5 with social phobia and clumsy child syndrome. They changed the labels later on in the game but it didn't change what I had.

Children with autism are treated differently now, they don't sling them into institutions. Do you think perhaps that McDonalds causes epilepsy as we hear about more and more people with epilepsy now? No because they just know more about it and it's treated as the "normal" persons issue if they can't deal with having an epileptic person around rather than the epileptic persons fault for having a medical condition.

unfortunately every bit of evidence from everywhere that the MMR vaccine was introduced shows that there has been no increase in numbers after the vaccine was introduced. facts like that simply cannot be ignored....

it is really staggering that one study, one single study with only a few participants has been able to have this level of influence for this long. even if the methods were valid, it would need replication to be taken seriously. that never happened and plenty of people have looked!

I agree with this - alot of people with "illnesses" were shut away years ago. Also, children are alot more "medicalised" these days. Those who were perhaps labelled as a bit "odd" afew years ago, would have some sort of medical label put on them now. My bil is 38 and I've said for years that if he was a child now he'd be diagnosed with something or other, without a doubt, and I can think of quite afew similar people I grew up with. In fact, my father is 76 and someone that he grew up with died last year, he was someone I'd come in to contact with through work, and listening to the way he was as a child, and then how his behaviour continued into adulthood, he again is someone who would certainly be diagnosed with something were he a child now.

And it looks like we made it once again
Yes it looks like we made it to the end
  • There is concern in the medical world over these triple jabs.

My family have a genetic auto immune issue, my sister who has Lupus was informed by her consultant that no children immediate, or offspring of her siblings should have the triple jab, because of concerns with people with immune issues receiving too much in one jab.

So we have gone with that and now being punished by a state system that has helped close down the only single mumps factory so now my children can't be immunised properly.

Everyone should be given the option. We are being sent into back street clinics and being immunised in hotel function rooms. All I ask is to purchase a private prescription through my GP and pay them to administer it, but the government won't allow that.

If they don't lift their propoganda of paying GPs a bonus for each MMR given, and give patients a choice they will find more problems later on in life with the amount of children not getting the immunisations.
  • was autism the only suggested side effect from the mmr jab. when my little one had her first dose in 1995 she developed a blood clotting disorder mimicking lupus 2 days later - the disorder has the name c4 heterozygus complimentary defficency and we were advised that she should not have the second and third dose as she would be covered by the fact most of her peers would have had the whole dose. she is now 16 and on the whole healthy with no problems other than the fact she would have to have clotting agents prior to dental and surgical procedures and questions may arise when she wants to have children due to its similarity to lupus.

  • The biggest regret of my life is letting my DS have the MMR jab - he was a bright and intelligent little boy and changed into a non responsive blob overnight. It was literally an instant change and there is no doubt in my mind that the MMR caused it. It has taken a year of chelation therapy, diet and supplements to even begin to reverse the effects of the jab.
