Ground Source Heat Pumps

I am going to ask our main design engineer what he thinks when they return to work next week.
We have eliminated virtually everything apart from the filter in the pump, so the problem may be somewhere else.
Are there no readings between 1.4 and 1.14?As Manuel says in Fawlty Towers: " I Know Nothing"0 -
Is there an option to see P2 pump operation in your settings. e.g. I see this under option 5.10 (showing continuous, or with compressor)
Apologies if I've missed earlier coverage on previous pages, and not certain it is relevant but asking in case it helps diagnosis.0 -
There were no options between 1.4 and 14 - this was on K2 I think.
Will check 5.10 next week for you Patrol.0 -
On the install mode, there is definitely nothing between 1.4 and 1.14.
House is a bit cold, so I have put the curve back and added a few degrees to the 0 degrees setting.
Patrol: details are:
5.2 Connection Capacity 2/3
5.10: P2 cont operation (selected)
P2 Alt (not selected)0 -
Wondering if this system has a bypass fitted that is causing the problem with the high temp difference in GT8/9. Virtually everything else is checked!!!
In 5.10 change the setting to start with compressor. ( Thanks to Patrol for that point ).
Look at P67 in the manual ( next to last paragraph ), for the possible reason the alarm is recurring. Pity we don't have the design plan as that may have shown this earlier. As Manuel says in Fawlty Towers: " I Know Nothing"0 -
Changed 5.10 to start with compressor, but the alarm came back after a couple of hours.0

Leave on start with compressor and change the internal pump to speed 2. The Grundfoss (external) leave on 3 for the moment. As Manuel says in Fawlty Towers: " I Know Nothing"0

Do you get the alarms year round or for particular seasons
Do the alarms happen randomly, or is there a pattern
* When switching from heating to dhw
* When switching from dhw to heating
* After being on DHW for a while
* After being on heating for a while
* Something else
Do all your radiators get hot/warm as a heating cycle starts.
Are they at their coolest just as the next cycle starts.
Is your heating radiators only, or is there underfloor heating too and if so have you found a manifold for that. Have looked back and saw no mention of ufh but might have missed it.0 -

Year round, but there's not many weeks when the heating is off

Seems fairly random (I've posted some logs a page or two back - including overnight when I would have thought there was no DHW

Radiators seem fine, and work well - hard to know when the cycles are timed, but I've had no concerns here

I have UFH in one room, not sure what the manifold is. Having googled it and found lots of pipes, I have nothing like this - could it be under some floorboards? What should I be doing if I can find it?
Hope this helps - might be some time before I can get the pump speed adjusted lovesgshp.0 -
Looking at this thread with interest. We have an E11 heatpump from IVT fitted by Ice Energy back in 2008. over the past 9 months bills for electricity have been massive. The heat pump just isn't generating enough heat, its working very slowly until the immersion kicks in - currently about 7/8 hours per day! pump is constantly on as it cant get up to the temperatures specified. Myself and a fridge engineer suspect its the compressor - couple of questions if anyone can help.
1) What would cause the compressor to work so poorly?
2) I'm struggling to find the model of compressor to price up a new one?
3) Any ideas of what to check if not the compressor - I have turned off all but a couple of rooms for the UFH and it struggled with those.
4) Would undersizing be an issue - the house is big 350m2 ish, UFH downstairs and upstairs?
Any help would be appreciated, causing sleepless nights with the size of the electric bill!0
