Petrol query...

The fuel gauge in quite a few Vauxhalls I've driven won't move if you only put a thimble full of fuel in - including Corsa D and Astra H.
Brim the tank and it'll sort itself out.
As for fuel consumption - I got 45-50MPG from a 1.2 Corsa courtesy car driving it sensibly.0 -
Petrol tank gauges don't always register changes in fuel level in a linear manner, as the tanks are not a uniform shape, for one reason.
Which is exactly what happens on my car! Between full and half it looks like it uses fuel at an alarming rate.. and then its between a quarter and half for ages and then slow to empty.0 -

Best laugh of the day.
Rover went bust because they were junk.
The reason they went bust most certainly wasn't due to the Rover 75 or the K series engine, it was more to do with government incompetence and BMW stiching them up after they got all the information they needed out of Land Rover.
The Rover 75 was a brillient car, comfortable, smooth and underated, just try and find a diesel one for sale, if you do it will be expensive as they are well sought after by the people that aren't uninformed brand bigots or brand snobs.
Lets not forget that one of BMW's biggest selling cars was almost entirerly developed prior to BMW got involved, the new Mini. It is more a Rover Mini than a BMW Mini.
But New Labour allowed the company to be shafted, almost certainly for the monetary of some New Labour supporter or "mate".
Folk like you slagged off LDV aswell, as their products are deemed to be rubbish also, well the LDV's we had at work in London proved time and time again to be the most reliable and flexible Ambulance we have ever had in London. The Mercs have a habit of breaking, and costing a fortune to fix when they do break.
If LDV had the investment that Mercedes has then they would have been even better.
Even the new vans LDV made before the New Labour government let them go bust, for the sake of a few million pound to tide them over, where a lot better than some may think, after all the engines and gearboxes weren't made by LDV they were bought in, the engine was from a Transit.
That is what is wrong with the UK, a certain part of the community just love to have no loyalty to anything made here.
They just want to slag it off.
LDV Ambulance £75,000 in 2001.
Merc Ambulance £150,000 in 2003.
The old Rover 200 series was almost identical to a Honda.
The Honda Accord had a Rover diesel engine in it.
The Rover 600 had several Honda engine in it, and Honda gearboxes in it.
The Rover 75 was developed with BMW input, the eaely ones had BMW parts behind the heater controls in the dash, and BMW seat bases in the front, reupholstered in the Rover way.
If you didn't like the styling then fine, you didn't need to buy one, but to say they are junk is both ignorant and uninformed.
And TVR another iconic UK brand allowed to die by New Labour, as they didn't want the working classes to work, they wanted them to be made dependant on the welfare state so they could be controlled better.0 -

Nowt to do with the management being thick enough to allow the Germans to have them over then?:D0 -
I bet Honda regretted ever getting mixed up with them.0
