  • I'm a longtime lurker here but rarely post on Old Style. However under the influence of all you inspirational organised types I have been getting more into meal planning . It's slightly more awkward because Dh doesn't eat meat and DD is not a big fan of most vegetables. A swift audit of the freezer means the next two weeks should look something like this. It’s basic and perhaps slightly repetitive but I’m taking baby stepsJ

Sunday – Home made quiche, baked potato, home made coleslaw

Monday – DD and I beef and onion pie, DH fish pasty, boiled potato, green beans carrots. Don’t usually have dessert but have chocolate pudding and custard to use up.

Tuesday – Home made veggie cottage pie, carrots, sprouts

Wednesday – DD and I burgers DH veggie burgers, fried onion, cheese slices, home made potato salad

Thursday – Home made veggie chilli, rice

Friday – Home made fish pie, carrots, peas

Saturday – Home made pizza, green salad

Sunday – DD and I sausage and mash, DH veggie sausage and mash, roast sweet potatoes, peas, stuffing, yorkshire pud, onion gravy

Monday – DD and I beef and onion pie, DH fish pasty

Tuesday – Home made cauliflower cheese

Wednesday – Egg and chips with peas or baked beans

Thursday – Home made tuna and olive pasta

Friday – Baked potatoes with cheese, beans, tuna, red onions

Saturday – Home made pizza, green salad

Sunday – cheese and onion pie, roast parsnips, peas, stuffing, yorkshire pud, onion gravy

Breakfast will be porridge, cereal or toast

Lunch will be soup, a sandwich or something on toast

Snacks will be fruit or a piece of home made banana loaf ( have over ripe bananas to use)

Nothing in it, nothing in it but a ribbon round it .....

Determined to post every week and this will be 3 out of 3...

    This week we're having

Mon - Chilli and Rice (this should have been what we eat today but had a swap around and now we're having braised chump chops today instead)
Tue - Corned Beef Hash (using 'extra' potatoes cooked today)
Wed - Pasta with blue cheese and bacon, garlic bread
Thu - Fish pie, chips and mushy peas
Fri - I'm working in London so will probably eat there - DS1 and DS2 are with their dad
    Sat - Curry night
    Sun - Paella

Most of this is still coming out of the freezer (i.e. not officially coming out of my budget) and believe me - there's still plenty in there!! :rotfl:
Anywhere is within walking distance - if you have the time!!

Great to see so many organised peeps !! I meal plan from a Friday to Thurs (I get my grocery delivery on a Friday afternoon).

Our budget is £69.00 per week for 3 adults and 1 x 5 yo (Sunday lunch 2 extra adults).

Everything (apart from sometimes the "easy" meal is HM and we have a very small freezer so all meat and veg are fresh and I aim to try at least 1 new recipe per week.

I meal plan with the following in mind:

Breakfasts are usually cereal, fruit and/or toast
    Lunches are Sandwiches or Wraps

2 x Pudding to last 4 days - remaining days are pudding free or fresh fruit.

    1 x Easy Meal
    1 x Mince Beef Meal
1 x Sunday Roast bulked out with warm ups for the following day
1 x Pasta Meal (with or preferably without meat)
    1 x Chicken Breast/thigh meal
1 x meat free meal or cheap, cheap, cheap meal !!

So here we go for this week:

Friday - Minced Beef Crispy Pancakes, Spaghetti with cheese and Potato Wedges

Saturday - Mixed Veg Cottage Pie with Sweet Potato and Gruyere cheese topping and Green Beans

Sunday - Roast Leg of Lamb, HM Cauliflower Cheese, Roast Potatoes, Roast Parsnips, Carrotts, White Cabbage, Peas, Gravy, Mint Jelly and Redcurrant Jelly.

Forest Fruit and Apple Crumble with Custard or Ice Cream

Monday - Warmed up leftovers from Sunday

Left over Forest Fruit and Apple Crumble with Custard or Ice Cream

Tuesday - Liver, Bacon and Onion Casserole with Parsnip & Potato Mash and Peas

Wednesday - Meditteranean Chicken Bake with Cous Cous

Bread & Butter Pudding with Crea/Ice Cream

Thursday - Roast Squash and Onion Pasta with Ciabatta Bread.

Leftover Bread & Butter Pudding with Cream/Ice Cream
