Ooooh can I share please? I sat and meal planned for the first time EVER earlier! So starting on saturday:

Saturday-Sausage with either potatoes & veg or chips and beans, depending on what we fancy
Sunday-Chicken with potatoes, veg, roast potatoes, yorkshire pudding and gravy
Monday-Chicken again, with either chips or potatoes
Tuesday-Toad in the hole, potatoes and veg
    Wednesday-Lasagna and chips
    Thursday-Spag bol
Friday-The rest of the mince from yesterday, with potatoes, veg and gravy
    Saturday-Fish fingers, chips and peas.

Breakfast will be a choice of toast with either egg, jam or cheese, or porridge with a handful of fruit chucked in

Lunches I have planned too, they tend to be a concoction of what I think will be left over from the previous evenings meal or something simple like beans on toast. I haven't planned any desserts, however I imagine durig my first weeks attempts at baking there'll be plenty of disasters being dished up with some custard!

Does anyone have any tips on eating for weight gain by any chance?

Do you mean you want to gain weight?

If so the healthier(???) way to do it is upping Carbohydrate intake.

Upping your fat intake will just layer the arteries and cause health issues. Upping the Carb intake (slowly) will help you gain weight.

If you meant the opposite... then cut the carb intake and exercise!

Now totally depressed your menus all look great but there is virtually nothing there that DH will eat except the roasts. Desperately looking for cheap alternatives but he is so fussy it is really hard. He has now announced he doesnt want cheese and potato pie. Likes meat and two veg but not much else.

    This week we have had
Sunday Roast Duck(post new year treat)
Monday what he calls stew - beef, mushrooms onion and stock casseroled.
    Tuesday Cold Duck chips peas
    Wednasday gammon. pots and peas
Thursday Egg bacon sausage and musrooms with chips
Friday some sliced beef from the freezer from Christmas, chips and peas
saturday kidney, bacon, chips and peas.

He does like chips (have you spotted this:rotfl:) and only eats peas or canned spinach which is quite pricey so only gets it with roast. This is a fairly typical week and I really struggle so if anyone can come up with anything I would be grateful. He doesnt eat rice or pasta and has "gone off" noodles:(. Corned beef, faggots etc are no nos. Cottage pie is a very occasional meal .

On second thoughts can I trade him in for a better version:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

gawd gemini12. If that was me there would be no way I would pander to my OH's desires. My OH gets what I make and thats it, if he doesn't like it then he makes his own meal. Plus I found when I first met him that he didn't like a lot of food items, now he will eat them all just because I refuse to make somthing different. Turns out his mum had pandered to his wants. The majority oh things they don't like is just because they aren't used to it.

Very true vesper! The only thing my OH doesn't like now is chocolate

For spinach you might want to look at frozen spinach. It's around a pound a bag and lasts ages. It is also a bit liked the tinned stuff.

Does he like pies? You can always make up a couple of pies with the left overs from your mains and have them later in the week. The beef stew would be delicious under a puff pastry lid. You could bulk buy the beef and gammon and portion it up which would make it cheaper in the long run!

Mushrooms are usually very pricey but only a pound or so frozen so very good value too!

    :)

I know what you mean but I suspect he just wouldnt eat or go and get takeaways or something. Him not eating is worrying to me coz he is almost 6ft and weighs between 9 and 91/2 stone and can lose 1/2 stone in three days and has done on many occasions. Not sure where he loses it from.:rotfl:Arent many of you jealous I know I am cozI weigh much much more.

The only thing I can't get the OH to eat now is brussel sprouts, but I am not going to force him to eat them especially as when I met him he wouldn't eat any kind of veg apart from broccoli. He lived entirely on pizzas!
