Well I've just finished my first attempt at baking-though still have the mess to clear up!

Made refridgerator biscuits and double chocolate muffins. The biscuits were very hard, but I've never made them before and thought maybe they were meant to be like that, the muffins had quite a hard top, so was a bit puzzled, as it's a brand new built in fan oven I was thinking they'd be softer.

Anyway, then made a swirly marble cake, had a look after 15 minutes and it looked lovely on top, pulled the shelf out to skewer it and it was pure liquid under a brown top! I then saw I was grilling rather than baking!

So, switched the dial to oven, the marble cake and tray bake cooked beautifully, so soft and light. Put butter cream and grated chocolate on top of the tray bake, cut the marble cake in half (rectangle tin) and put some cream in the middle. The muffins seem to be getting harder as they cool, but have chocolate chunks in them and are quite nice. Think I'll break them up, heat them and serve with cream/custard/choc sauce the next few nights to use them up. The second lot of biscuits turned out much better being baked rather than grilled too :rotfl:so now have a quality street tin full of them!
Toodles-SAHM to a beautiful 3 year old DD, Baby #2 on the way!
Just started comping 02/11/11 Everything crossed!

Friday - breaded chicken with baked rice and broad beans

Saturday - [STRIKE]pepperoni pizza with wedges (probably not though as going shopping during the day, so will probably end up having something back at my sisters)[/STRIKE] nope! We're off out to a Chinese buffet. My sister has vouchers, so will only cost £5 each :)
