reminded me of something, i left my company i phone in the garden for 24hrs in the rain, forgot i had put it there. when i found it, let it dry out by radiator and it worked perfect.
Somebody once told me that if you drop anything like a phone in water what to do is bury it in a bag of dried rice.
The rice will draw any moisture out of the phone and hopefully bring it back to life.0 -

A retention deal for me :j
I have been with 3 for about six years, my current contract is up at the end of May, and I could upgrade in February. Thought it was worth a phone call to see if I could upgrade early and they offered me this deal. I called on new years eve, so this may have helped for their end of year target figures.
They initially offered me this deal for the Wildfire, then when I hesitated they offered me the Desire. Tried pushing my luck for the HD but they laughed at me
Phone being delivered next week - will be like a big kid choosing what apps to use!!0 -
I really like my Desire. I chose it over the, technically better, Samsung Galaxy S due to the smaller size, better build quality and Samsung's dismal record for support, and I'm glad I did.
One app you need to get is this one, Swype. You can write whole sentences in seconds.

Get it while its still on beta, they wont offer it out there for long.0 -
My contract ends in a month and I only have a few phones to choose from as I am with Orange.
I want to know what people have been offered either from retentions (whatever network, o2, 3, T-mobile etc.) or a deal they have seen around that was really cheap (even if it has ended).
I really want to get the best out of retentions so I can go for a higher end spec phone, sell it, and then buy the HTC Desire Z as Orange don't sell it directly on their website right now. Otherwise I will go on giffgaff £10 goody bag and buy it SIM free.
Currently I pay £15 a month so if anyone has found deals around that price it would be great.
Let me know what you have been offered regardless of network, on whatever HTC phone (or even HTC Desire Z) and I will see if Orange will match that.Debt free
2010 £11000/£9000
2011 £509 so far0 -
Ive had the Desire for around 6 months now and its the best phone ive ever owned. The screen quality is amazing, the speed of opening/closing applications is quick and its just generally a nice phone to use.
The only downside I have is the sound quality when using it in speaker mode. It just sounds tinny, but im sure theres a workaround somewhere!0 -
The cheapest deal I could find with a free HTC Desire was on buymobilephones.net for roughly £20 a month on T-mobile. I ordered a day or so ago and apparently it's arrived at the house a few hours ago (mum texted me) but I'm at work so haven't seen it yet.

It won't let me link (just registered on here) but if you go on their website it's at the top of the HTC Desire list at the moment.
300 mins, 300 texts and unlimited internet (24 month contract).
There's a small cashback thing too which works it at just under £20 a month but I don't know if I'll claim it back or not as I have heard these guys are terrible for free gifts/cashback and it might not be worth it for a few quid.
Will update if there's any problems (hoping not), these guys seem to be one of the cheapest in terms of HTC offers at the moment.0 -
I think the desire is the best Android phone you can get in terms of performance/price ratio.0

I got an HTC Desire (the white one) for £59.99 on T-Mobile 300/300/Unltd tariff for £15/month at buymobilephones.net. There's also £30 cashback with that on quidco/tcb.0

I have a thread going on about a reboot issue with Desire. However I got mine fixed and it seems to working fine now. When I got it back the GPS didn't work, then I installed an app called GPS Test by Chartcross, find it in Market.
After running that it seemed to give the GPS a boot up the backside and it has worked fine since.
Could be worth a try.
was your phone rebooting when in gps mode0
