Yup, 250Mb is pretty outrageous for this device, anyone looking at this deal should check the out of allowance charges carefully. It would be very easy to exceed this each month.
  • I picked up a £20 pm deal on 3. Paid £30 for the phone (which I received back in cashback from Topcashback). I get 900 mins or texts and 1Gb of data. The above does not seem like too much of a good deal to me. For those 3 'bashers' out there, I have had absolutely NO issues with the network or their CS in the 4 months that I have had the contract, very pleased.
  • to add to this, got a bolt on type deal from t-mobile for £250 a month for 1gb useage.

and also i very rarely use the net when im out, only when out n about, wifi hotspots, and at peoples homes and have connection to wifi there so ok for me

I think 250mb allowance is enough for general use, you shouldnt really be downloading on data cause it takes too long anyway (i appreciate sometimes there is no other option), but i read somewhere that 500mb is enough for 10,000 website views....

Therefore 5,000 website views is plenty unless you wana look at more than 160 web pages a day. Although, the statistic i read could be totally wrong, just something to ponder.

It's not just about viewing websites, although as so many are content heavy, I'd take x number of pages = x Mb with a pinch of salt. Of more concern is that new 'Smartphone' devices tend to send/receive data in the background.

Add to this email, app updates, in app data use, streaming audio/video and even with moderate use, you're not going to get any change out of 250Mb unless you're constantly curbing your use, which defeats the object AFAIC.

    250mb is not nearly enough.

If you have a 500mb limit and are connected to wi fi at home, where you do the bulk of your browsing. Then 500mb is about ok.

The problem is a lot of people who say 250mb is plenty dont have experience of proper smartphones and the amount of data they use.

The Desire can render a complete webpage with all flash and video content intact. That can be 2 megabytes a page if your on a media heavy site. Most pages clock in at 500k to 1meg.

And thats not to mention all the data polling the apps do.

    £2.50 lol

i have had fone few days, playing messing around with it and havent actually used the network internet connection only home/friends and family wifi

i think itll be enough for me.
  • I use close to 3gb of data a month, christ knows how I do it.

250mb is really nothing, have your email getting pushed to you when it arrives, sycn with htc sense, update a few apps, and download a bit and thats gone.

It criminal that networks can get away with this, its conning the unweary, even 500mb is pushing it, I would say the minimun you need is 1gb to be on the safe side.

if you arent going to use these phones to their full potential you may aswell just but a £10 jobby from argos
