Ok,
Is E2Save reputable?
I've compared E2Save with Carphonewarehous & Sim Only and so far I've come up with a 24 month contract total cost of:
Sim Only: £789.95 (2x12 month contract taken consecutively assuming no price change when it comes time to renew second contract)
Carphonewarehouse: £779.50 (30 per month for 300 mins and 500MB download allowance and £99.99 for the phone with £40.40 TCB cashback)
E2Save: £698.53 (£30 per month with a handset cost of £24.99 and cashback of £46.46).
So this looking the best so far.0 -
Right more digging has revealed that DialaPhone may be worth look only problem being I can't seem to find a data bolt on anywhere. I can't imagine that they would sell smartphones and not offer data packages however I'm stumped as to where you would add it.
If I assume £5 for data as that seems to be the standard 500MB data rate on 02 then a 24 month total cost would £584 as there is 8 months 1/2 price line rental and 35.35 cashback with a free handset to boot.0 -
I just signed up like 2 weeks ago with DialAPhone for this exact phone, and got the phone within 2 days (week before christmas) and got the account all set up with T-Mobile straight away. The deal I got was the following:
Free HTC Desire Z
600 mins
500 texts
1GB data usage
£25/month for a 2-year contract with T-Mobile + £50 Quidco cashback
http://www.dialaphone.co.uk/phone/HTC_Desire_Z/search.aspx?product=HTC_Desire_Z
Click "Lowest effective monthly cost" and you'll see the T-Mobile one
The only issue I'm having is that although I never see anything less than 3G on my phone (usually 4 bars HSDPA) the speed seems to be capped at 360kbps (3G) and I'm not getting HSDPA speeds. I'm currently dealing with T-Mobile though to get this resolved
The phone itself is brilliant, except the hinges feel a little loose, but I can live with thatThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Oops I missed an important point and that is that I have to use 02 as it is the only network that I can get at home and also coincidentally at work so the two places where I am most of the time is 02 only zones. I wish I could make use of the many other network deals.
Is the data automatically in your bundles because on the 02 offering I can't see any mention of data?0 -
I love mine too. It's my first smartphone but it's been really easy to use and get apps etc. The gps on mine appears to be broken though, but apart from that I am happy with it.
I think the camera is very good.
I have a thread going on about a reboot issue with Desire. However I got mine fixed and it seems to working fine now. When I got it back the GPS didn't work, then I installed an app called GPS Test by Chartcross, find it in Market.
After running that it seemed to give the GPS a boot up the backside and it has worked fine since.
Could be worth a try.0 -
runkeeper is free over January, a great app that tracks running, walking and also whilst on your cycle too. I'm using it alongside myfitnesspal to try and get fit and healthy!0

Thanks yes, I had started a thread about this very problem, although my GPS had never worked properly from new. I was advised to get the GPST Test app, which I did and it works fine now.0 -

Best phone I've ever had, great build quality (my manager's dropped his down the toilet and after 24 hours or so drying out it still works, try that with an iPhone!), everything seems slick and speedy on it, it runs Android 2.2 and has a massive userbase so will most likely be supported by HTC for a while to come despite the Desire HD and the Desire Z being released and when HTC do drop support for it (it happens for all phones!) then there's a large userbase who will most likely continue to develop for it and support it.
reminded me of something, i left my company i phone in the garden for 24hrs in the rain, forgot i had put it there. when i found it, let it dry out by radiator and it worked perfect.0 -
I have looked at dialaphone ever which I can I definitely cannot see any data bundles or any place to add data to any 02 contract on the HTC desire z. Why on earth would anyone buy a smartphone without data included so are these deals really as stupid as they look?0
