We used buymobilephones.net for our last contracts - with T-Mobile. 300 mins/300 text/internet booster/Nokia 5800/£15 per month.
We received £55 cashback from the site and a further £25 via Quidco for each contract. All worked like clockwork, even when Quidco's affiliate DMG went bust.
We would be happy to go the same way when our contracts expire in 12 months time.“When I was a boy of fourteen, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around.
But when I got to be twenty one, I was astonished at how much he had learned in seven years.”

How about unlocking it then?
£159.97 for the phone from Tesco, then use a website which gives you an unlock code (people in here seem to be satisfied with HTCSimUnlock which costs $16 http://androidforums.com/htc-wildfire/109800-unlock-wildfire.html)
After that, if Tesco have any of their own crap on the phone itself, you can just flash the phone with the Generic Wildfire ROM from HTC's siteThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Thanks for all the replies, this sounds like a good idea. I'm a smartphone newbie and have never done anything like this before - is it easy to do?
I've just noticed Argos have the Wildfire on Vodafone for £129 + £10 airtime, could I get it from there and get it unlocked as you suggested? I have £60 worth of Nectar points I could use at Argos so that would make it cheaper for me

I was in Phones 4 you today and they had the Wildfire at £129 on some PAYG deals - they said all their phones are unlocked but I'm not sure as never used them.
I had been looking at the Orange san francisco but thw Wildfire looks good at the price.
I want to get unlocked then a Tesco Sim only monthly £10 card but not sure if it will all work yet!
Worth looking at, the SA did say If I can find someone on 02 they do it as an upgrade so you do not need to add £10/£20 top up.Sealed Pot Challenge number 8 Amount declared £365.50.

i bought the £129 vodafone one from argos and paid £20.99 for it unlocking via a code on mobileunlocked.co.uk. the code came instantly thro email and worked a treat. i was told at phones4u that all their phones come unlocked, but that was after i had bought the 1 from argos.
by the way, this phone is superb for the money, my daughter is was well impressed with it on christmas day0 -

Might be better going to phones4u as it appears the Wildfire is already unlocked from them.
Check post 12.

Hi
Any ideas as to the cheapest way to buy htc desire hd sim free? I don't want to be stuck in contract and was thinking of getting o2 simplicity deal. I think o2 as my broadband is with them too I'm currently an o2 customer payg. I've never managed to get any deals when I phone o2 I don't think I've got the knack of haggling! Should I wait until next month and hope for better deals?
I'd appreciate any info thanks! :j0 -
Thanks for that : ) I meant to ask if I'd be better waiting until next month. Are cashback deals likely to go up and are mobile prices likely to go down?
Is February a better month to buy?0
